Default Windows 7...you're supa great, but...

Yes, Windows 7 is everything you want and nothing you don't. Everything looks great, works great, and is great. I haven't found anything I don't like.

The Windows Media Center is saving us lots of money since we dropped cable, and it can replace almost everything we want. It works just like TIVO, but better.

I truthfully can't say anything bad about it. It just works.

But not so fast...Smart Source, why won't you update your software to work with Windows 7? I can't print your coupons anymore. Yes, I know, "you are aware of the problem and are working to find a fix." Blah, blah blah. I emailed you a month ago...and you still have the same reponse.

And Target, why won't your internet printable coupons work with Windows 7? Is it really that hard? Come on!!!!

I mean really, Microsoft released Windows 7 to developers months ago. It's been released to consumers for a month now.

GRRRR, I just got a new laptop and I LOVE Windows 7 , and I knew that Target coupons wouldn't print but I didn't know about Smartsource. I agree with you, they should have had this worked out by now.

Do you game on Windows 7 at all? I am hearing awful reviews from gamers who want to play any pre-XP games like Command & Conquer. Not that I can afford a new OS atm, but when the time comes I want to be able to play my Red Alert 2!

I'm no gamer, but if you need to keep compatiblity with games that are XP compatible, you'll need to get Windows 7 Ultimate. It has an "XP mode" that works great. I haven't tried it for games, but I can't see how it will work any different with games than it does for productivity software.

Windows 7 is worth every penny.

I mean pre-XP, think Windows 98 My Red Alert 2 was released in 2000, before XP.

I meant that if it works in XP, it will work in the "XP mode" in the Ultimate edition...because that is what it is. You are running XP in Windows 7.

Yep I have the same problem. And DH installed it on my laptop and I print more on it than any other computer I have access to. So he is going to uninstall until they get this problem fixed. I love the update but I love my coupons more.

Ooooo I see. Sorry I'm a bit of a nitwit I shall pass this info along to a very concerned old school gamer who is in the market for a new laptop at the moment. He will be most pleased! Thanks for the info!

It couldn’t be any worse than Vista when it first came out, I couldn’t use my printer at all. Microsoft Works didn’t work right for a long time either, plus I have a ton of software that still isn’t compatible like games and print-shops.

I would love to have Windows 7 for the TV tuner and recorder, as well as the ability to run stuff in XP but I just don’t see paying that right now. I don’t think I’ll waste my time hoping the price will come down after a while, I think Vista is still as expensive as it ever was.
