Whaddya think? Anyone else stunned at the thoughtfulness of this 10 year old boy and the stand he's willing to take? If I was his parents, I'd be proud.

Wow, what an intelligent and brave boy! I think I was in 9th grade when I finally looked at the "Pledge of Allegiance" word for word and decided that I didn't agree with all of it. I would still stand up and recite it, but would stay silent during the parts that I didn't agree with. I would never be so brave to sit down during it, like this boy did, to register my objection.

Honestly, that video made me cry. I'm so happy if these are going to be the leaders of our country one day! That little boy is going to go so far in his life!

Wow! That boy is a very intelligent thoughtful boy. I have mixed feelings about refusing to recite the pledge but have always thought that the "under God" part does present issues to those who don't all believe in the same higher power. I guess like someone else said I'd be more likely to not say the parts I don't agree with then to refuse to say it at all. But he's definitely bringing attention to what continues to be an important issue.

I did the same thing in school for very different reasons. No matter what the reasons, I don't think someone should be forced to do something they don't agree with. Especially when it's a PLEDGE, a solemn oath.
