Default Publix Unfriendly to couponers- Anyone else noticed a change

I call Publix the Disney World of grocery stores. Today I had my 1st super rude cashier. She was at the CS desk and I was asking if they had napkins or Wisk in the back the shelves were empty. The nice grocery guy found me 2 pks a chinet napkins and the CS lady informed me I was only getting 1 rain check and that was it. I said, great I only needed one for Wisk.

Then I had the fun of going through check line. I was making chit chat and thanked her for the Wisk and told her it was a hot item because no one else in my area carries Wisk, only people. She told me "yall clear the shelves." Then I brushed it off and let her check my items and hand her my coupons. You would have thought I handed her a bomb. I had lots of items without coupons and did not have that many q's. I always fly low under the radar. I only shop once a week. She started making snippy comments like, "yall dont like to read the wording," "yall this and that." I said, If I have incorrectly used a coupon please point it out and I will withdraw the q. I have not problem following the policy. She could find no fault and handed me nothing back. She was so ugly I finally said, I am sorry I have to take so much of your time but my company sent my job overseas and I have to find some way to feed my family. True story. She replied, lady ya'll all have a story."

Since she did not hand me back anything I did not say too much but I did come home and write and email. I may call the store tomorrow the more I think about the the madder I get. I drive about 20 minutes out of my way to get there. I am not a shelf clearer and have never been anything but polite. I can bring Bad Donna but would prefer to leave her at the house.

Donna you are to nice. I wouldn't have even apologized for anything. She's probably jealous, that you are smart with your money.

I say bring out the Bad Donna :)! That cashier was totally out of line.

Yeah, I've noticed a huge change. My Publix changed to only accepting competitor coupons within 2 miles of the store. Which I guess means they accept only the ground as a competitor cuz that's pretty much all there is within 2 miles... lol. At least that's the story THIS week.

I feel your pain. My complaint is on consumer affairs.com/Susan stockbridge Ga. Also I will be filing a formal with the Publix corp. as I too love shopping there. Fortunately I have more than one Publix to shop at.....they are all not bad!

OMG! LOL! I'll have to remember that one!

Publix is customer service crazy! I'd send what you posted above to corp on their website. That will get forwarded to the manager and he SHOULD contact you, so put your cell phone in there if that's the best way to contact you. I'd would politely say you're sure they will do his best to see that this doesn't happen again, but I'd also inform them that if that employee even looks at you funny you will be fillng another complaint with corp (do this purely for documentation purposes) and calling the District Manager. Then do call the DM if she doesn't have PERFECT customer service when you're in there. Employee's in my district seem to realize what a great job they have and I've never heard of any of them saying such a thing.

I would definately send an email to Publix about this! There is no excuse for being treated this way.

On the issue of Publix becoming unfriendly to couponers - I REALLY feel like the only way this treatment is going to stop is if EVERYONE emails Publix whenever they have an issue.
