    Default Household Christmas Creep

OK, more than one house on this street, This Weekend, put up their Christmas Lights and decorations, airblowns included, and are turning them on!
Half the street still has Halloween/Thanksgiving decor up and on, and now we've added Christmas.
I get that maybe you want to put it up early before the weather gets bad. But you don't need to turn them on 6 weeks early. Not to mention we have another Holiday between now and then. It's not like Thanksgiving is religion-specific and some people don't celebrate it.
I'd be sick of them by Christmas if I had mine going that early.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but in alphabetical order, as it should be.

Hilarious I was just debating if I was going to keep up w/the Jones or not? Both of my neighbors have put up there trees and one has her lights up. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to put my tree up and I am seriously debating putting it up now but nah I gotta be stronger than the peer pressure :)

Some of us get excited and LOVE Christmas decorations...all the lights...so we like things up early. :) My indoor decorations (I don't do outdoor ones) have been up for a week now. :)

i fall in that anti-social * i hate christmas* catagory......if i had my way, there would be NO decorating at my house and the tree wouldnt go up until 12/23 and comes down 12/26 with all the decorations as well

Its too early to be putting up christmas stuff yet. AFTER thanksgiving seems more fitting, but to each his own.

The one thing i do find *super annoying* is that the stores are already playing all the jingle-crap holiday music. I feel bad for the employees who have to endure that for far longer than they should.

I don't allow Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Even my 6 and 3 year olds know that it isn't time for Chirstmas songs yet. I love the music but more than a month of Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman sung at the top of a small child's lungs with almost the right words can send anyone over the edge!

Once Thanksgiving is over, I'm all for it!

Last year I was a scrooge and didn't put up anything but a 3 ft. fiber electric already decorated tree. It was depressing. This year I'm having surgery the day before Thanksgiving. It will leave me an invalid for almost three months. UGH. Anyhow I have been dragging decorations down from our third floor and contemplating putting up the tree before Thanksgiving something I would never do otherwise. Of course someone else will have to help take everything down and haul it back up or else leave everything until Valentines Day.

I've had my decorations, indoor and out, and my tree up for a little over a week now. I love it! I wish xmas decor could be up all year!

I usually decorate about an hour before company comes on Christmas day. My decorations consist of themey things I can just set out and put away quickly like candles, holiday themed guest towels, kitchen towels, table cloth and such. The most elaborate decoration I put up is a lighted strand of garland which just drapes over an archway and takes less than five minutes to put up. We used to put up a small pre-lighted tree until it broke and I just didn't replace it, but otherwise we do no tree. I wouldn't decorate at all if not for having guests.

Best wishes for your surgery and recovery, Colinsgrandma.
