why do they keep calling???

I am on both of the do not call list but I still get aleast 10 to 15 calls every day..from sales people or credit card people. Right now its the places wantting to loan me money to pay off credit cards and I dont even have any, I mean not a one and never have. I have asked them not to call and even got really rude but they just call back a hour later, if I dont answer they call more that day than they do if I answer the phone. I dont give out my number so I dont know how they get it..

What can I do? they are driving me crazy..its 11:09 pm and they just called again..

yes I have even told them I am on the dont not call list and they laugh at me and hang up...

Is it someone pranking you? Have you tried searching for the number in one of the 800-number directories to see what other people are saying?

We had an insurance company that kept calling like that, and it turned out to be a total scam.

Do you have the number on the caller ID. You can turn them in for calling you.

I got a call from NYC at 2:30am election night. I thought someone was just excited & called the wrong number...lol! But they've called back 3 times now. I'm about to turn them in!

Sometimes the number will show up and other times it dont..I have called them back and I get a recording and I wait to talk to real person and again I tell them dont call me anymore, they say ok sometimes or laugh and hang up. I have called them back maybe 5 times to try to get them to stop calling but it has not worked.

I have even done the give me your home number and I will call you back when you are at home with your feet up or maybe you are like me and have 4 kids to clean up after and do for..so then you can see what it feels like when you have all ten hands full and the phone rings for what is no reason at all. They hang up but they just call back later...

oh and one time it showed up as a local number,so I called it back thinking I have you now, well no one answered, later a woman called back and told me that she was not selling anything or making those calls..I checked the number she called from and the number I dialed and they were the same number but when she called me back it showed up a persons name but when i got the first call it did not show up a name.

get an air horn and blast it into the phone when they call. they obviously are not respecting you.

companies do have 90 days to take you off their lists after you sign up for the do not call list.

not that it sounds like these jackals are a real company. I would think about who you ticked off and stop responding. If you have an answering machine, screen your calls. DO NOT pick up and talk to them. You can call the local cops and put in a complaint. You can even call the phone company and get the number blocked if they call from the same one all the time. I believe it costs sometimes but coupled with a police complaint it might be waived one time.

I had the same problem till I got the Magic Jack. I saved a ton of $$ and got rid of the pests

I used to get those at work all the time. My office-mates started responding with "You realize you are contacting a University? Do I have to get legal on the phone if you don't stop harassing us?". Try that! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's pretty satisfying.

All the calls we get are from charities wanting money. I think some groups are exempt from the do not call list.
