    HOT yes - I am venting...

    okay - I KNOW that Shaw's does not have to double q's that say Do Not Double....but I had a cashier who actually went through and DELETED the double part if the coupon said DND....is it just me or is that a little ridiculous? I was soo upset...it was only $3 - but man - I work hard for that $3!
    I didn't get upset - but I wanted to! I just smiled oh so sweetly when my $24 in catlinas printed.......and she had to keep turning around to get them off the machine.....
    At least I know not to go back through her line.

    My Shaw's has also recently stopped doubling the DND coupons. I have never had an issue with it until this week. 3 different times & 3 different cashiers all pressed that "button" to not double. I wondered if it was something management has been making them enforce. I too did not get mad because of course they don't have to double it, but I was a bit ticked that all my planning went out the window. I won't be going back to that Shaw's for a long time. Also one of my Cats did not print and I don't know why. I went to CS as I usually do and they cave me the "Its on sale prices" line. Oh well, I still got some good deals.

    I know its hard when you plan for the double, but we really shouldnt.

    It says right on there in big capital letters "DO NOT DOUBLE". If it happens to, its a bonus, but expecting it sets you up for a let down. Its not supposed to be doubled know what I mean?

    I usually plan for face value and if they double I have an extra "thing" in my cart that I can add to absorb that extra $.

    Maybe not what you want to hear. sorry :sad:

    which is why, I hit my shaws after 3pm when the teenage boys are working the cash registers :-)

    I always wonder why they put on the face DND but start the code with 5..
    Wouldn't it be simpler to have it coded with 9 if they do not want this coupon to double? This what Stop and Shop does with their blinkies.

    If you contact Catalaina and tell them what and when you purchased it, they will mail you a Catalina. Whenever I've done it, I've gotten the Catalina in less than a week.

    From what I have heard that DND is put on there so more store will carry the coupons. It is usually on coupons that are displayed at the store. Since doubling the value of the coupon is a store promotion it is up to the store to double DND or not.

    I am still upset that Jewel no longer takes expired coupons. I heard from somebody that works there that business has gone down. So I understand why the OP is upset that the store they shop at is changing its policy.

    Getting great deals is nice but I still want good customer service and to be treated with respect also. I think I should expect it. I really hate the ones that say we never did that when I know that the store had been doing it for decades. Then they say we will let it go this time. Hah!

    This was happening at Giant Eagle too. One of the ladies contacted someone higher up and had a nice email conversation. It was quite productive in my opinion. All corporately owned stores follow the new guidelines, but independently owned may or may not. Now instead of hoping a cashier won't stop a "5" DND coupons we know they have been instructed not to stop it. "9" coupons will be doubled unless stated DND.

    I used to go to a Publix that doubled, even when it said DND, EXCEPT if you got that item free after the doubling, then they would not allow it.

    I'm sure this information is somewhere on this site. I still have a hard time navagating and finding things. Could you point me in the right direction to find the contact info for Catalina. Also Will they acknowledge that it IS on shelf prices?
