I hear ya on the apt nightmares. We've been looking for a 2bdr since we found out we were having our daughter (she is 13 months now...) and either nothing is available or something is wrong. Can't count how many places I called the day the ad was placed (in the paper) and GONE the same day! Then there was the place that sounded perfect. I called twice the first day, left messages, no answer. Called the second day, some real snotty lady answered and said "Can you call back tomorrow I'm sick" and when I called back the next day I found out the place was in a completely different town :hectic1: Another place we looked at was perfect except he said no pets and it was also impossible to gate the stairs unless we installed a rail and such. The last place the landlord decided he wanted to live in it, just too nice to let go So we're still looking, and I haven't actually tried Craigslist but might as well with all the other duds
    Where are the DEALS!?
One each of Walmart, Wags, HyVee, Aldis, DG, DT County Market NO doubles/triples

I don't know where you live, but if your city is listed in peoplewithpets.com they may have a listing of pet-friendly rentals.
Better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you are not.

My DH and I have been searching for rentals for the past month and we've been looking on Craiglist. When we see something too good to be truth or a listing without a phone number or listing with email addresses like trusthelord@gmail or godisgood@... We know it is a scam! Man, we have gotten like so many emails from these people trying to tell us to fill out application form and send the deposit and they will send us the keys! All by mail and not in person! Geez.... scammers!!!!

Hey girl... all the best in your search. We just found a nice apartment today and now gonna fight with this current one to let us out of the lease so we can move to the new apartment!!

    Cheers...

My BF and his family have a listing for a townhouse, on CL. If you are in NJ it's a great deal. And I swear to you....it's NOT a scam! It's so sad that there are so many people out there that actually do fall for so many of these scams and worse that the scammers do not get caught.

I am on CL's often, looking for yard sales and free stuff, and always love when people give others a heads up on a posting being a scam! I say KUDOS to them, and more of us need to do that!!!

The scammers give those of us, who are very serious about renting a place out, or selling a car, etc.....a bad name.

That's right, the ones that got back to me also asked for free credit report and kept assuring me that they are not asking for the social security no. or anything like that. They always say they are looking for someone who is responsible to take care of their beloved property blah blah....... geez!

Usually when I come across a scammer, I will just go back to the listing and flag it for removal. These scammers are just unbelievable! :shrug7:

    Cheers...

KUDOS to you for 'Flagging' them. It's so sad what people try to pull on others, especially when there are so many legit ads out there, but those idiots ruin your trust for the real ones......UGH
