Okay, today was supposed to be the start of an alright week. My first unemployment check was due in ( If some of you remember, I was laid off a month ago.) I STILL haven't received my first unemployment check. That is partially my fault as I messed something up, but I went in last week and they said that I should receive it today. Well, no dice as it didn't come in today's mail. Last time I went last week, I had to wait FIVE AND A HALF HOURS to speak with someone. Well, that was all cleared up and we were supposed to be ready to go. Didn't happen.
Well, THEN, today, the guy who was supposed to be buying my old car ( selling it for a VERY reasonable $175 on craigslist ) didn't show up. He was supposed to be there at 11 AM. I called him at 11:30 AM and he didn't answer the phone, so I left him a message on his cell stating who I was and that I'd be there until 11:45 am and then I was going home. He called right back and said that they'd had a power outage, and that he woke up only an hour ago and that he wasn't going to make it right then. Then he started saying that he'd rather do it later. He started also asking if my father was home right then because he needed access to electricity ( didn't say why. ) He absolutely REFUSED to give me a set time as to when he wanted to come get the car. It was VERY weird. I said okay, just call me when you want to come pick it up. ( PS: Car is parked and doesn't go into gear in front of my Dad's house. He was going to work on it and then we came to the conclusion that he wasn't going to be able to fix it. Not that it CANT be fixed he just didn't want to go through the hassle of replacing the transmission.)
Well, I went home, and around 3:00 pm I called him back and asked the guy buying the car back to see if he could give me a time because I wasn't going to keep driving back and forth. By the way, he haggled me down from 300 to $175. HE did, not me. HE also stated that he'd be there at 11 AM today. Anyway, I told him that if he couldn't give me a time as to when he would be around that I was going to let the car go to someone else. He said to me, with TOTAL rudeness in his voice " Well, I can be there in half an hour if I can pay $150 for the car." I said " NO, I can't let it go for that much. ( To be honest, I would have accepted $150 if he had showed up or at least CALLED ME.. But as he did neither, I wasted gas driving the 20 miles from where I lived to my dad's house, wasted an hour and half of my time already... I wasn't about to let it go for so little when he'd already punished me.)He said " But you're going to sell it to a junk yard if I don't get it....they'll only give you $75 dollars for it. " To which I retorted " The one I called offered $125 and to tow it away for free." He said " Oh, you'll take $50 dollars less from them but not me?" I yelled " YEAH! AT LEAST THEY ARE DEPENDABLE!" and hung up on him.
