You know you're getting old when...

...you hear the music you grew up thinking was the most "anti-mom's music" on the planet has been made into a broadway musical. Yes, I just witnessed in horror the heavy-metal 80's-90's rock band Poison play "Nothin' But a Good Time" on the Tony Awards. :sad:

That is just wrong...and what's worse, is that is was actually Poison performing the song...just as it was originally performed. It wouldn't bother me that bad if they "broadwayed" the song...but they didn't. :sad:

At least there was one funny thing about it. Bret Michaels was being his usual over the top self and had a huge prop lowered on him. It was pretty funny...a classic Youtube moment. It took less than 10 minutes for it to be posted: YouTube - Bret Michaels Tony Awards : Stage Exit - FAIL!

Don't ever turn on the radio to a mix-station. I'm not very old and they said they were going to play 90s music on the "retro" weekend. WHAT!? Give a decade *at least* 10 years before it's considered "retro" PLEASE lol.

My husband and I can pinpoint the exact moment we became "old" Mind you his is 31 and I am 30. We were watching ET with our boys 7 & 8. When on of the child actors picked up the phone on the screen our boys said "What is that?" Ummm it is a phone, "No mam' that is not a phone, quit being silly Mom".....In that second we became old.

When the cashier at Wag's the other day referred to Ghostbusters as a "classic"..............

I don't know why were talking about it, but I said to my friend "oh he's too young to remember Ghostbusters" and I was really only referring to seeing it in a theater, then he jumps in with "I've seen Ghostbusters, I like the classics".....I was floored, especially because I am only 32!

My daughter's friends were over this weekend for a 'School's Out' sleepover, so I recommended that they put on a movie, and asked if they had ever seen The Dark Crystal or Labyrinth, to which they said no. My daughter LOVES both of these movies, so I decided why not.. I loved them when I was a kid.

So I put in Dark Crystal and even sat on the floor with them to watch. Jarrett, who's about to turn 7, exclaimed that 'the cg in this movie is terrible.' and he was going to go play with the kittens.

MAN did I feel old right then! I remember when that movie was just AMAZING for it's reality in surreality!

When I asked my then college roommate about seeing great movies from her childhood, and I mentioned the GOONIES... and she gave me a blank "HUH" stare.
