My DH has an interview Wed at 9:00am
The competition is EXTREMELY insane for his subject area so just getting an interview is an awesome feat.
I REALLY hope he gets the job, but I'm NOT holding my breath. My DH will do the best he can........we do not have control over anything else.

I haven't read all the posts. Is he eligible for state certification? Has he taken the praxis exams? Can he take them this summer, to make himself eligible for emergency state cert? What about subject areas where there is a high need for teachers--like math, science, special ed? Does he have an interest in any of those, and try to get himself qualified?

I'll look for the link, but I have read that out of all people laid off, 75% find themselves in better positions. You're smart, you're resourceful, you'll land on your feet.

He has the following certifications
General Social studies which includes: government, economics
History
Geography

and he just went back a couple of years ago and got a minor in language arts

He should start tutoring. Those areas many kids are lacking in. He could do very well with tutoring. Pick up the book Guerilla Marketing by Jay Levin Guerrilla Marketing Online - The Official Site of Guerrilla Marketing and Jay Conrad Levinson it it easy/cheap ways to market your business.
Depending on what grade level he could also tutor for SAT/ACT.
