Thumbs Down What is going on at Wal-MART?!

This week a friend and I decided to save the drive to Albertson's and just go to the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market to get a price match on the Peter Pan Peanut Butter since I only wanted that one item. The ad stated 2/$4 and I have 2 $1off/1 coupons, so that means I will get them 2 for $2. The cashier advised me that they will not be able to accept both (the price match and the coupon). Well, this isn't my first rodeo and I then had to advise her that yes she could and I have the Wal-Mart price match poilcy in my purse if it would be helpful to her. She called a manager who told her to accept it as long as it wasn't a store coupon. She then rang me up.

But this isn't the first time have had this issue with Wal-Mart
accommodating price matches and coupons. Once I was told that I could not purchase more than two packages of cookies that I asked them to price match. At that time the manager even backed the cashier up and said no only two. So from that point I wised up and keep a copy of the store policy in my purse.

i think its a combination of lack of training on the part of the stores and the larger number of people who are couponing and cheating the system. Most of us do things the right way all the time, but there are some who take advantage. We all pay for those who do it wrong.

Yep yep, what she said. I think I might also throw in that Walmart is a little too big for their britches too.

From personal experience it is mostly due to lack of training. Many times the "cashier" checking you out isn't even a cashier but I sales associate and they don't receive the same training as a cashier. I recommend that you write a letter not only to the store manager but also the market manager about the problems. And keep the copy of the policy with you.

I second writing a nice, concise letter to your store management. You can use the Contact Us link at walmartstores.com to send an email. I'm actually revising a letter right now relating to a continuing problem.

I had a REALLY bad experience at walmart. My cashier had to have been new because she had no clue whatsoever. I had 2 carts full of comp ad matches and coupons. For the ad matches, she went through every ad to make sure and then wouldn't accept a bunch of them for the stupidest reasons. I.E. Meijer had General Mills cereals on sale for $2.00. She wouldn't accept my cereals at that price b/c the ad hadnt listed every single general mills brand. And Then when i gave her my coupons, she went through my carts of bagged groceries to make sure I had the right product/size/quantity. THEN after ringing up 40 coupons, the register said something along the lines of "coupon limit reached." So she handed me back the rest of my stack and said "I guess that's all I can take." The manager was busy at the time and couldnt come help. I got home and pulled up the coupon policy and it said "40 coupons BEFORE THEY HAVE TO GET AUTHORIZATION." So I wrote an email to corporate and am still waiting to hear back.

I hate when this sort of thing happens. I've been told that too. On top of being told that target wouldn't accept the Free cascade rinse aid 8.5 oz coupon out of the P&G booklet. Usually Its just an excuse because the cashier doesn't know what they are doing. Just gotta stand your ground.

I had a great Wal Mart experience at my store. I went and bought a HUGE cart load of items with a coupon to match every one of them the cashier at first was mad as heck about all the coupons (even went so far as to yell to others behind me that they should go to another line because this was going to take forever) Then as she watched the total go from 367.00 down to 128.00 she was standing there shocked. The manager then came over and approved the coupon overage and the cashier said wow you could teach people a thing or two about saving money. I chuckled and headed out the door with my razors, sense and sprays and the tons more of all the other items.

Today my store customer service manager wouldn't take my internet printed Kraft coupons, (I later found out from a fellow couponer that I had to fold them so only 1 bar code went thru not the strange one) they consider all internet printed coupons fraud. Needless to say I didn't use my 17 coupons, left my cart there and was beyond mad. I HATE Wal-Mart.

Lol. Yesterday some guy was called over to check my IP's . He licked his finger and started rubbing the printing on the q's! I thought that was funny. Then he started telling me that they were xeroxed. ???!!! he took them after i told him that my black and white laser printer was running low on ink. Which it is!
