There are SO many ways the insurance companies discriminate against individuals (and families), it disgusts me. For instance, I don't know how many people here know this or have been affected by this, but individuals seeking a personal health care policy (not through their employer) are subject to limitations that those under a group policy are not. If you weigh over a certain amount, you can NOT obtain a policy for ANY price no matter how much you're willing to pay.
Say you're an overweight person with a middle class income...you make too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to pay all your medical expenses out of pocket...and your employer does NOT offer insurance. Good luck finding a policy on your own.

But yet that SAME insurance company will have no problem insuring you through a group policy. ????
