Default CVS manager is a LIAR

several weeks ago my absolutely favorite cashier of ALL time retired from CVS. this woman had it going right!! she had the exact right combination of customer service without being a push over!! she was always nice, always chatty yet getting business done!! she made shopping their a pleasure above and beyond the wonders that are CVS shopping! LOL

On her last day i brought her chocoalte covered strawberries from Edible arrangements. she was literally CRYING and saying how much she would miss our chats and she was happy to be retiring but there were some people she would miss. she and i hugged and when i left i wished her a good retirement.

but a few days later i was in the store and the head store manager(kenosha southside for anyone who wishes to KNOW who this jerk is) is chatting and tells me 'it was a good thing J left" i asked him why. and what he told me HURT ME and shocked me. he said " she hated you, she hated al you couponers. She talked smack behind all your backs every time you left the store" I was appalled. i didnt know WHAT to think . first off why would he LIE? second how could i have been fooled? There was a gal working who I am also chatty with and she is another nice lady. She informed me the maanger was lying. she said ask anyone, but that all of his staff is sick of him. That he had been undermining J for a LONG time by lying to other staff members about her and things she supposedly said that were nasty about them. I did ask the assistant and shift managers and one wouldnt talk, but the other 2 did. and it was the same thing. he was a LIAR. flat out. a drama maker.

I am ashamed that i kept shopping there. and that tonight's lies were what finally made it that i will no longer shop there. period. He comes up to me and tells me how loss prevention says he is losing too much money accepting expired coupons and ECBS and that as of TOMORROW they have ordered him, northside and the zion stores to NO LONGER TAKE THEM AT ALL PERIOD and NO warning. since i know he is a liar. i called the other stores. they said that yes, company policy in their area is changing. they will no longer take ECBs more than 3 days expired. i am totally ok with that. but they BOTh said that NEITHER store had been informed of anything reguarding manufacturer coupons.

Needless to say i have called the district manager about this. i dont appreciate being lied to. if the southside manager wanted ot change his policy why blame someone else? why not just say "I am not longer going to take expired coupons sorry" I can RESPECT a manager making a new policy or a new decision totally. i have NO issues with policy change. just roll with it ya know? i have been spoiled for a long time.ah well it if changes i will adjust. but LIE TO ME?!!? i dont think so. the District confirmed i was lied to. and said he will talk to the southside manager about his behaviour and about discussing company policy with customers.

sorry to be soooo long winded but i needed to really work this out.

oooo, I despise people like that manager. Life serves up enough drama on its own without us adding to it. What a pitiful man he must be and so lonely too. It's a good thing you have options because I would not want to shop there either. Good for you for going up the ladder to find out the truth.

Yikes. I go to Kenosha, southside by Pig. I just hit there once every week or two, but I have noticed that one nice cashier hasn't been there lately. I suspect she is the one who retired. She was ALWAYS nice and helpful. I seriously doubt that she talked behind people's backs. She was just not that kind of person. She actually made shopping there fun.

I never used expired ECB so that won't affect me, but I don't like to read what the manager was saying behind her back. I'm going to have to look at name tags when I go. I am going today or tomorrow to pick up a couple of things.

    Thanks for your post!

the Head store manager is off for today and tomorrow. just so you know. but his staff and managers are UTTERLY confused. his note at the registers says that they cannot overide or manually enter ANYTHING. not free coupon, not adjusting ECBs, not trial size coupons. NOTHING. not even emailed CVS coupons that as we know half the time done work.

corporate has always allowed store managers to accept or not accept expired as they saw fit.

i called corporate just a bit ago. and OMG. he is not a complete liar. only a partial liar!! corporate told me this is actually a COMPANYWIDE change. that NO stores wil be allowed to accept ANY expired ECBs, CRTs, or manufacturer coupons as of today. no warning, no grace period. nothing. i am in shock right now:sad:

That sucks majorly for you. I think this is coming from the manufacturers though for those types of coupons. Jewel is no longer taking them as of May 1st and I suspect that the manufacturers are refusing to pay now that everyone is hurting for money.

I went to that Kenosha CVS today. I had the nice African American male clerk. He gave me some soda coupons that I didn't have for a total of $3.00. He also noticed that some ECB didn't print so he printed them. He is always pleasant to check out with.
I had left my shopping list at home so I wasn't anywhere near as prepared as I should have been. Plus, there isn't any school this week, so I had my teenager with me.

Did you notice as you walk in the door, the store managers name is posted? I am curious now to see who it is. I am probably going back as they were out of a few things.

Well, that manager was quite rude to do that. How can he go talking about a former employee like that? How unprofessional!
As to the expired ECB, I used one yesterday (Thursday) with no problems and head honchos actually in the store. Since I almost never use them expired, the cashier let me. My grandma died yesterday and was in the hospital since Monday, the day the darn thing expired. Guess I had that going for me too.
Maybe I'll shoot an email off to Corporate and see about getting something written to carry 'just in case'.
I'm still shocked by the unprofessional behavior that manager displayed.

yeah Walter is awesome, he is so nice. I dont agree with all of his couponing techniques, he is one of us. LOL i know that the managers face is plastered by the door. but i am giving SOME courtesy in not giving his name on the internet. though i am willing to direct anyone in this area to the store in question. LOL
