Once I had a bottle of Absopure water that I could not get open. It was my drink for lunch. I had 4 coworkers pass around the bottle and try to open it and noone could get it open including one of the big guys. It was like it was superglued shut. I just threw that bottle away and bought a pop that day and wrote the company, and they sent my coupons for my trouble.

It's crazy how much packaging is around everything these days, especially electronics and DVDs.

I hate when I cannot open something or when you finally do get something open by mangling it or tearing it a part. I have had trouble with the pace salsa jars that I bought at the last mega event, which is surprising - but even my DH had to try them twice.

For sealed jars and the like, use the pointy end of a bottle opener under one edge to break the "seal". You only need it to pop it a bit. Works better than bang with a knife (my mom did that one), running under hot water (only really good for syrup bottles that have become sticky with use).

After years of living with guys, my sons have moved out and DH is at work all the time... I had to figure out something to get into jars, or I could end up staving to death!

The toys are so aggravating. I opened one up for DS the other day - not only was it wired but it was screwed to the packaging so you had to get a screwdriver to get it open. This was for a $7 toy.:hectic1:

I am actually going to buy one of those can't cut you but cuts the plastic things (I don't know what they call them). I just discovered that Pampered Chef Sells one since I haven't been able to find them in the store anymore. I plan on keeping one in my car for those testy electronics packages and they work great for coupons too.

My sons are always taking each piece of a toy set and trying to play with it while I work to get all the other pieces out of the boxes. The worst are the ones they screw in. Although I think the thick plastic coated onces are pretty bad as well. Nothing like plastic cuts trying to open things.
