My printer broke!

Waaaaah! I can't print anything! It was fine yesterday morning before I left. Came home and turned everything back on. Went to print and it made a horrible noise. I opened the top and didn;t see anything. Closed it and it did it again. I opened it again just in time to see the cartridge latch ajar and it broke off when it moved across the rod. I couldn't stop it.

I have called everywhere I can think of and there just is no getting parts for these. It's only about 6 years old and works perfectly. I hate this obsolescence of things. The throwaway society stuff bugs the you-know-what out of me. I can't get parts from HP (who hasn't answered an email either).

I can't help you. Please try freecycle too though. People have used ones they don't need or underpowered ones they don't want (like the ones that come "free" with a new PC).

Huh HP has always been great with replacing/repairing items for me. I had a digital camera, lightning ran thru the charger and messed up the screen, they sent me a brand new one in exchange for the old free of charge! I would keep hounding them for a part-it does take awhile to get thru on their CS line but they've always helped with any products I have (the reason why I bought an HP this time around.)
