... so I was talking to dh this morning and he reminded me to get coffee, Equal and Coffeemate at the store today (I don't even drink coffee). I remarked that he's really burned through the Equal much faster than I expected (I'm on my last free box). He tells me that he uses 9 packets a day in his 3 cups of coffee, and about 16 a day on his cereal (1, maybe 2 bowls worth)! 16 packets of Equal on a bowl of cereal? 8 packets maybe (he started trying to backtrack when I was so shocked). Geeze louise!

What does your family use an insane amount of?

Ditto what Cuz said, TP! It's hard to teach the kids what's 'reasonable', when DH was never taught, and uses a LOT.

My dh can go through a big bottle of body wash in a month. I'm still on the same bottle from 2 months ago.

DH uses his razors quickly, since he shaves his head. Good thing we rarely pay money that doesn't jingle for them, huh?

Someone once suggested in the Tightwad Gazette that squishing the roll of toilet paper flat stops overusage, because the user is unable to roll away to their heart's content.

I think they said squish it flat, then open it up and put it on the roll, and they'll get about 1.5 rotations out of it before it breaks off.

Not to get off topic but you may want to check if using that much Equal a day is safe. I thought I heard somewhere that overuse of these sweeteners over a long period of time can lead to a host of very serious medical problems.

TP and Milk

Can't keep TP no matter how many I buy! It's just the two of us! For the life of me I can't figure out how dh uses so much! He can use a double roll in two days!

DH drinks a lot of milk because he won't drink water. I just recently started drinking milk for the calcium so we go through about 2-3 gallons a week. I try to buy it on sale and freeze it.
