Default My husband

Many weeks ago when he was having a bored day, i can only assume this was the reason, he decided to order Acia berry for the free 30 trial for shipping. now i could have told him it was a scam, but he didnt tell me or ask my opinion or anything. well it was a scam, they charged $70 on our credit card. after a LOT of wrangling on my part and cussing people out i managed to get our money back. I was sooooo pissed at him!! so you would think that he learned a valuable lesson yes?

NO

i asked him to check our bank statement online today and there is a 69.95 charge from paypal on there. i was like WTf? we have not ordered anything through paypal lately. so he signs in on paypal and is looking at things. this was charged to a one time use set up credit card through paypal. he then admits to me he had seen one of those advertisements for getting information on getting grants. he ordered thier started packet for 1.98 and said no to the monthly subscription. well guess what? yeah, they charged him for the monthly. so we are now out 69.95 until i can argue, cuss, and get our money back.

and he is sitting here saying i have NO REASON to be angry with him.

:hectic1:

my husband is a very smart guy but an IDIOT online. and he HID THIS FROM ME. he never told me about the grant website or ordering the cd or anything. i would have said NO its a SCAM.

what am i going to do with this man? killing him is not legal!!

I am sorry he did this to you. I would lock up the computer from him until he gets more responsible. I hope you can get your money back soon.

Sorry you're going through this. I'd be tempted to hide the body too.

I thought I read once (but can't find now) that you can restrict your credit card to only certain purchases. Maybe if you call your credit card company and ask that it be restricted to "in store" purchases only, they can do that. That would keep him from ordering online or over the phone using it.

It may be worth a shot.

unfortunately he committed this stupidity through paypal. sigh. not with our usual credit card. he thought he was being slick about it by creating a one time use paypal online credit card. what he didnt realize is that the company could put in ANY amount they wanted to charge him. it is a one time only , only in that only ONE company can USE the credit card that was created. GRRRR. so we have had to remove our banking info from paypal for now, they have destroyed the "credit" card account and hubby is on his way to fax the signed affidavit that he did NOT authorize a 69.95 payment only 1.98.

so the good news is that Paypal says not to worry that we WILL get our money back in the next 10 days of them recieving the faxed affedavit.

the bad news is hubby needs to stay away from me for a while so i dont throttle him. i am really super tired of having to go through this stupidity with him. but oh he swears he has REALLY learned his lesson this time and he will NEVER EVER do this again!

Oh, I see. Yes, that does suck for sure.

It's good news that you're getting it back. I'd almost be tempted to take the $70 and buy myself something shiny....
