The government should not be in control of ANY private industry, nor should the government be able to control the income of any private industry, executives or otherwise.
The Big 3 should all be left alone, let them file Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which would allow them to restructure, including the UAW contracts, and go from there. When you make cars where you literally lose $1500 per car paying out the benefits and so on for their employees and retirees, there is a major problem with how that company is run. That's also why Toyota, Nissan, Honda, etc., are doing fine. They're not losing that money, they are doing it right. The idea is to be able to make a PROFIT in order to keep the company solvent.
