    Hopefully you feel better!!

If there's someone around who can run to the store, Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat or Yogi Tea's Throat Comfort are life savers when it comes to sore throats. The active soother is licorice. Roger Daltrey makes sure there's a box of Throat Coat in his dressing room on every tour stop.

Thank you for the idea. Going to pick some of that up today. And Roger Daltrey, love him!! I absolutely hate licorice, but so desperate, willing to try it.

    What was the doctors diagnosis?

If he said you have a cold, you should know from working in the pharmacy dept and knowing about medicines, that an antibiotic will not do anything for a cold. There is no cure for the common cold to this date that I'm aware of.

We haven't had health insurance for years. With the exception of my hubby's infected tooth recently (which I know without a doubt I could have cured if given enough time, but we didn't have time in order to get it pulled quickly) we haven't had a prescription filled in a very long time.

Herbal/home remedies really are tremendous. Our absolute favorites are; Elderberry/Echinacea/Colloidal Silver/Vitamin C for immune boosting, Cayenne tincture for headache, stomach ache, circulation, and adding extra oomph to any other remedy, Mullein tincture for anything respiratory.
We do remedies as well, essential oils, vaporizers, nebulizing, etc... but those are our basic go-to's.
I have honestly healed myself of something as serious as Mastitis in 3 days using only Echinacea, Vitamin C, and cabbage leaf poultices.

With your background OP, and I admit I am waaaay OT with this, you could pick up herbalism really quickly and save yourself a ton.

I so believe in herbal remedies. They tremendously improved my daughters teeth and gums when she was a teen. The dentist was amazed. I used to have many books on herbal remedies. I don't know what happened to them though.
