The article previously mentioned, I think it was the same article, it also talks about the socialist health care.
In this new stimulus package, older people or people with chronic illness will not be treated if it will cost to much. It depends on how sick you are, how long you will live etc. and if you are too old or too sick to become a contributing member of society, if not you will not be treated. You will be left to die a natural death. This not only affects the elderly but what about babies born with disabilities, downs syndrome, premature etc? or the person who develops cancer or MS or parkinsons, etc? or the person who is involved in an accident? If the cost is too great to treat, you will not be treated. This is not good for our country. As far as them not reading it, they can say they did not know what was in it when the country trys to hold them accountable.

As far as insinuating that Dems are trying to get the Hispanic vote by eliminating E-Verify, I'm sorry, but the Hispanic vote is historically Republican. That's just how it is.

BTW, E-Verify is a pain. We have to do it now at my office (we are a federally-funded job training program). It's full of glitches and is very time-consuming.

That's my opinion and it's worth what you paid for it.
You say E-Verify is a pain. Does that mean that we shouldn't bother with it?

I do not think that employers should hire illegal immigrants. I believe there are already laws in place reguarding this. I believe that the current laws need to be enforced better. I am not for the E-verify system however. One person on here said that the system has gliches. What if you are here legally and are a glich in the system? Do you think that you would like for the government computer system to keep you from being employed because some government computer somewhere made a mistake? Down the road, what if the government decides that it will not allow other groups of people to hold jobs in the country? It could put these groups in this system and prevent them from holding a job. What if unemployment became so bad that the government decided it would only let the head of a household hold a job. Think of how many unemployed women there would be. What if the goverment decided that if you were a certain religion that you could not hold a job? The legislatures job is to pass legislation that will continue to ensure all legal United States citizens freedom will continue. This E-verify system seems to me to be a tool to control the American people and possibly limit their freedom. I too was dissapointed with the stimulus bill that passed and believe that it shows a lack of integrity and character of the legislature who passed this bill without even reading the bill.

Okay, let's say we do away with E-Verify. How does an employer verify that someone is a legal citizen in order to comply with the law?

They carefully check the documents provided and make photo copies of documents provided for all employees when they fill out their I-9 form at the time of hire.
