Hot Under the Collar Forum Rules -- Please read carefully.

The following are general guidelines for posting in the Hot Under The Collar (HUTC) forum at Hot Coupon World. The administrative team encourages open, honest debate about any subject matter that members want to discuss. We respect that most members have varying points of reference on topics that could be deemed controversial. That said, the following are forum norms that we expect every member to abide by when posting in the Hot Under The Collar forum.

* No religious debate or discussion is allowed in HUTC.




What this means:

• You may not debate religion in this forum.
• You may not debate other topics and use religion as your platform.
• You may not bash, lump all members of a religion as being bad or not as good as, or otherwise bad mouth religions or those that practice a particular religion.
• You may use statements that something is against your belief or religion but we ask that you refrain from quoting scripture, or elaborating on your religion and what it teaches.
• You may offer well wishes and prayer requests when asked for.
• You may join or start a social group here at HCW and discuss religion to your hearts content provided that the discussion in the social group(s) do not break any of the other rules of this site.

Members who disregard this rule will be removed from the Hot Under The Collar forum.

The moderators of HUTC have committed to treading lightly in this forum as a general rule. As such, you must report a post in order for it to receive mod attention. This does not mean that a mod will not act if in the course of regular participation, one of us sees something that breaks the rules. However, if you feel someone has forgotten the rules or that a post otherwise needs moderation, use the report button.

Our rules have changed. In an effort to lighten the moderator load and encourage open discussion, some of the previous rules have been deleted. We will no longer moderate insulting posts with the exception of sweeping generalizations (All x are y, that sort of thing). We will no longer moderate ‘snarky’.

Please be aware, however, that whatever you post is visible to the entire board, and will determine how other members perceive you.

*As a general rule, threads and posts are NOT deleted in HUTC. When you post here, please be thoughtful and careful. You need to be able to take the heat for what you post.

*Keep the threads on topic. If, after a warning post in the thread, the conversation continues to wander, off-topic posts will be deleted.

* Expect that moderators and administrators will participate in this section in a similar manner to regular members, and will hold the same standards.

*Material deemed inappropriate for this forum includes hate messages targeted at anyone, pornographic materials, adult content, swear words, bullying, or any other abusive behavior toward members.

* While we respect your right to free speech, this is a privately owned board. It is not our intention to overly moderate this section of the board, however, we reserve the right to edit or delete inappropriate threads as necessary.

* Do not quote scripture (from any source) with the intent to put down, degrade, flame, or otherwise defame others.

* If you post in the HUTC forum expect that others may not agree with you and that the conversation may get hot and heavy. If you cannot deal with the heat, stay out of the HUTC forum.
*Generalized statements such as “Cashiers are jerks” or “Baptists are racist” or inferences thereof will not be tolerated.

* Complaints about reputation points left by other members, about how the site is run, or general bad mouthing of Hotcouponworld, it's owners, or staff will not be tolerated in this forum or any other. And any such threads or posts will be deleted. If you have a complaint of that nature please contact a Super Moderator or Administrator (you can find a list of our staff at the following link: HERE

* The ability to edit your posts is turned off in this forum.

Bump....I think it is time to remind folks that we DO have rules for this forum and that no matter what part of the forum you are on, the Community Rules still apply to this forum.

Personal attacks, generalizing statements, and being mean to one another is not what this forum is about. This is about debating not forcing your opinion on others and not by attacking others.

We will remove members from this forum if they consistently cannot abide by the Community rules or the rules of this forum.

Bumping to remind folks that while we all enjoy a heated debate name calling and personal attacks are never allowed. I just deleted a thread that despite moderator efforts to redirect went off track. If members cannot follow the community rules and refrain from attacking one another and calling names then I will just delete the thread and if those same members cannot behave like adults then I will block those members from posting in this forum.
