U scan is for YOU to scan your own groceries. You can have as many items as you please unless otherwise stated.

Before I used coupons, I always used the U scan. I could scan my groceries faster than the regular cashiers and bag them the way I wanted them bagged (where I could actually carry them).

That cashier was rude and out of line.

If the kids are checking out thier own candy with their own money, there's nothing wrong with them each taking a uscan register! It's part of teaching them to use their money smartly.
I don't care if there's 10 people in line...it's just a few candy bars. She clerk should have just voided it and let him start over. How long could it take to ring up a couple candybars and a coupon?
If she told me customers were waiting I would have been royally p.o.-ed. "I'm not a customer??? What am I then?"

Running three orders at the Uscan? The cashiers handled it correctly. You should have checked out a register or came back to allow other customers to check out. Those uscans are for quick orders.

no where have i seen where it says they are for quick orders..that's what express lanes are for.

I've NEVER had a quick check-out at self scan even without coupons as i'm always getting a "please place item in bag" even though i already have a zillion times!

My #2 son had no coupons that he was using. And it has NEVER been a problem at any of the other stores I have been too. It wasn't ME that was holding it up. If they don't want you to use coupons at Uscan then why do they allow them through there?

I have tried to do a few different transactions at the regular check out. The problem is they pull from your cart, not from a belt and I even though I say "take it from this side first" with a huge void in the middle that is too difficult. If it was like Walmart where I had to put my groceries on the belt for them to drag down that would be one thing, but once I put my groceries in my cart from the shelf I don't touch them again until I load them in my car.

i hear what you are saying. my pick n saves here have actually taped over the coupon slots in the self-check outs!! no more coupons unless an employee sees them first. i guess if you have never had an issue before it doesnt make sense that they made you second class this time:shrug7:

while you are a customer really, couponing at self check out? never never a good idea. between 3 of you 3 of 4 self checks were being taken up at once. this makes a store cranky since self check is usually also for people in a hurry, eh? i AM sorry but maybe going to a regular check out when doing multiple transactions is really just more courteous to the store and other customers?

You do have a point but I have to disagree. I always use the self checkout especially if there are double coupons (unless it's a bogo or something special) because if I do it I can make sure it's done right and all coupons get scanned, pg easysaver coupons come up, etc. It's not that the cashiers are incompetent or anything, it's just that it's not their money so they're not as inclined to carefully make sure each and every coupon gets scanned. I would just rather know it's done right the first time so I don't get home and realize they didn't scan a coupon.
