This thread is for People who are walking around dazed, they laugh for no reason and then get teary eyed and all emotional for no reason what-so ever. The day the 44th President was elected, they thought they have died and gone to heaven. They still can't believe what has happened...they want to fly to OH, FL, IN, NC,CO, NM and ahem my home state Virginia and want to hug and thank everybody in their sight- even those who voted against thim.

These people are giddy to the point of being obnoxious, sometime you want to smack them....but please be kind, they know they are in a honey moon period and like all love affairs this will end too-Not

This thread is for those who are crazy about President Elect Obama. We have a request for people who don't think like us : Please don't high jack our thread, please don't post in this forum if you don't have lovey dovey thing to say about our beloved one ( It may seem it's unfair but may we remind you that you can have your own thread titled ' People who love Obama Suck') We are a group of grown up smart independent thinkers and the Top Gals of HCW have proved that we can have our own little piece of
Independent opinion.

We promise you that we would never post anything ( I mean anything -Period about his opponents) Rest assured you won't have to check this thread with the intention of defending your party members.


In this thread we will talk about what we like about the Man, what was about him that made us choose him, what kind of a Prez we think he'll make, what kind of Puppy his daughters will chose, what color of Tie he will be wearing the day he will take oath as the 44th President....we told you we are bewitched by him.

We understand that 58 million people did not vote for him and we respect that... seriously, we really do.

One more request: Could this thread kindly stay in "The daily Life" we don't want it to be moved to Hot under the Collar because trust me there is nothing about this guy that makes us angry. Notice we did not use the word 'Hot' :wink:. Also since you can't Edit in 'Hot Under the Colar' we feel really demoralized when our typos stay their to embarrass us for entity.

This thread may live for a day or two and then go into oblivion so please just bear with us.

we voted for obama because he made us feel HOPEFUL for the first time a very very long time----he feels like the little guy, like he knows what its like to not have enough food at the dinner table, knows what its like to work your butt off from the beginning just to get what you want

Hina, while I read your request to keep the thread out of the Hot Under The Collar forum I had promised the mod that we would move all political or other potentially "hot" threads to the HUTC forum.

I am sorry and I do hope that others that disagree with your love afair with Obama can be respectful and just move on if they have nothing nice to say.

On that note while I will keep my opinions about his political promises to myself I will say that the man is cute as all get out if you ask me!

One of the reasons I am so thankful to both the administrators and the moderators of this forum for reinstating the Pre & Pro Election Threads is this:

Without my knowing, posting on HCW from Sept-Till Now
has become for me, the equivalent of writing a Personal journal of Political discovery.

It was quite late in the Election when I decided whom to vote for.I am an Independent, I vote for the man ,not for the party.I know there have been Great Republican Presidents like Lincoln and Reagan as well as Good Democrat Presidents like Roosevelt and Clinton.They are great because they ruled in the way the country wanted them to not necessarily as their party.

Things happened so fast in Sept starting from The day Leeman Brothers collapsed:
Economic bailout, first Presidential debate 9/26 , the only VP debate 10/2, the last Presidential debate 10/7, William Ayers, Joe the Plumber.... Things/Events/News were happening to fast that I never really sat down and think about who I ws going to vote for...that is why for me the HCW threads are so important. I can go back and look at all my old posts and see what clicked for me, what shifted my opinion (Granted some of my old Election posts are silly and vain) But by looking at them I see my own Political Awareness.

I have so much gratitude for this site and all the people who posted in those threads, you helped me see all sides of the issues, raised questions I never ever thought to ask, told me things I had no clue about.

I have never ever in my life felt so confident in any candiate.

I am 26 years old, and have spent basically my entire adult life under George Bush. So have many of my peers and siblings. Remember when Obama said he was going to make "govt cool again"? That is EXACTLY what we need! We need to get young people involved again, care again, hope and TRUST again.

America has a big open wound right now. Obama is the best surgeon to fix it...

I hope this thread can stay positive. If there are any negative posts, lets just ignore them and kindly direct them to post on any other thread than this one.

The pics above are priceless! I cry everytime I think about it. I am proud of this country for wanting change no matter what the candidate looks like! I felt that my vote REALLY mattered this time. I feel like so many are expecting him to fail, but it can't be any worse than the past few years.

Unfortunately, he has a lot of cleaning up to do and will have to focus on that for the next "8" years!LOL!!!

Thanks for this thread. I was tired of reading all the negative ones. Even though it wasn't until the end, I was thankful to see the REAL John McCain on the stage during his concession speech. I was glad to see he isn't really how he painted himself during the campaign! But, I am just happy to see President Elect Obama in the chair!!

Anyone heading to the inauguration or the inauguration activities? I am definitely trying to get out there for something!!!
