Sorry, I didn't realize that it was an ancient thread until I had already posted. Someone must have voted on it, and that made it look like a new thread.....

Well in case anyone is wondering and does not read the entire thread. Lets recap.

When you join the trader in training group you have to type "I agree" in the join box because you are agreeing to abide by the trading rules and you are saying that you agree that if you are a bad trader who does not resolve their bad trades your information will be posted in the bad traders forum. This forum is only visible to admin, super mods, moderators and members of the trader in training and trader groups and not to the whole internet.

We no longer send out emails about bad traders. However occasionally Kristen (bugface711) sends out one of her amazing trader newsletters via private message and she reminds folks to check out the bad traders list forum and to subscribe to it.

We list username, street (not the full street address), city, state and zip code on the bad trader listing.

I think its a very good idea. I traded with someone last year and lost $21 if I had a bad traders list maybe this would not have happened. $21 is a lot of money to me especially now that I am not working. It was not on this site that this happened. I like that they leave off the house #.

I read the update posted a couple of posts up but I still want to give my opinion. I see nothing wrong with giving out the persons screen name, street, and city. If you want your information to be private, then don't make bad trades...just as sex offenders get their pictures and addresses posted to sites. Don't do the crime and you'll be treated as such.

My take on this is that anyone who trades knows that if they practice deceit, they fail to fullfill over and over again their end of trades then they know they are risking being added to the bad trader list , including a certain amount of identifying information. I see no invasion of privacy in this. Anyone who reads the rules for trading and sees that there is a well kept bad trader list knows what they are in for. But they still do it. strange.

Except for HIPPA and medical records, as far as I know, in law, there is no such thing as a "right to privacy." Yes, more and more companies are not giving out information because they believe, wrongly, that they can be sued for giving a bad work reference or such things. Your credit cards has voluntarily taken on a more proactive approach to keeping your information private.

I used to be a private investigator. I was once challenged by the local TV news to do a full background check on someone and the only clue I had was their car tag number. I didn't even have a name. In 24 hours, when they came back to my office to finish filming the spot, I had a complete dossier of the man, his wife, his son's arrest records, his business, his home, his unpublished telephone number, and his net worth. I also had all the lawsuits he'd been involved with. Almost all of the information I was able to develop on him were from public records that by law cannot be held back from the public.
