HOT Very Very Mad

I just got back from Harris Teeter and the very annoying coupon police hit me. I was doing nothing wrong..and after 20 minutes and a talk to the actual Manager, all the coupons went through...but 1. They would not take my $10/$50 cvs coupon before the other coupons. I had my total figured out to be under $15 before tax with this coupon but she wouldnt take it. I did not address this with the genearl manager...I should have! Has anyone else experienced this? I have always had it taken off before Q's because they get paid for the Q's so its like im spending the same amount anyway... My total was over $125.xx thus I should have been allowed to use the coupon!

Please let me know if anyone has had this trouble and if there are any good arguments out there for this...

i think mine is pretty darn good!

and now i have decided to go back and talk to the general manager....

My customer service has always been great about using coupons. I have never tried that coupon, but they have allowed me to use get a free giftcard with prescription transfers. My manager told me that they accept ANY competitor coupon. I'm sure if you call the General Manager - they will resolve it in your favor.

My store always requires that that type of coupon be used after all other coupons. So, for example, if it was 10/40, my total would have to be 40 after all of the other coupons. They do get paid for the face value of the coupons, but they don't get reimbursed for the doubling part.

My HT has the same policy. All competitor coupons that are x/xx can only be used if the total is xx after all coupons have been deducted.
I can see it both ways, and I guess they can too. They just choose to pick the way that benefits them. I don't argue though, because they really do generously accept competitor coupons of all sorts. No other stores around me do that.

Yep, my Harris Teeter does it like this too. It make sense since they don't get reimbursed for the competitor's coupon. Mine, however will only take coupons from other grocery stores. They don't take CVS or Walgreens coupons. It's really up to the store manager to decide whether they will accept a competitor's coupon. HT is the MOST coupon friendly store in many other ways. I don't think it's worth it to argue over something like that. JMHO.
