I did the trial membership too. I biggest complaint was the match-ups. I would have my Shoprite flyer by Friday and the match-ups wouldn't be posted until Tuesday. By then I had my own match-ups done and been in and out of the store 2 or 3 times. Not to mention they were showing greater savings by listing the $1 coupons as doubling to $2. Well that would have been great if that was Shoprites policy.

Me too. I only did the trial, so I didn't lose much.

I don't waste any time at other sites, I just don't have the time. HCW takes care of everything for me.
What worthless website are you all talking about?
PM me.
Thanks

Ew. Not that place :frown:

I tried the trial and I think two months of it, till one day a lightbulb went off in my head going "come on, theres gotta be a free site out there"

And I found HCW, and it's been so much better, and my savings have actually doubled using this site for free, instead of paying $35 for their site, that is always wrong, and never clearly explained.

plus I think the biggest thing that irritated me besides the "mushy" talk was the fact that doing a matchup that was bogo, they didn't want you to use two like q's!

pfft.

I'm here to stay, and keep my money

Today I got a response from my email notifying them of my cancellation and the reasons for it. She said that she received a lot of emails and the response she gave me about the disclaimer was just one they used to address list discrepancies in general. She did say she was sorry if I felt it was canned or impersonal. But she did not appologize for the list not being correct.

She even insisted that the chicken was on sale in her store. I'm having a hard time believing that. Tyson S/B Chicken breasts for 1.99/lb. is definately going to be a loss leader and in the flyers right? And something like that is not going to be a one-store deal usually. But nevertheless she insisted they were on sale and that my store was the one that was "off." She didn't address the other items that I had listed as being different.

My comment about the message boards being too censored was not addressed. What can they say anyway?

She said that what I was paying for was not only for them to list the sales and coupons, but for her to walk every single aisle and find all the unadvertised sales for me. I responded that it doesn't really do me any good for her to walk her store if my store doesn't match up. And they won't tell you which specific store they actually "walk the aisles" in.

So I told her that I had found another site that serves my needs just fine and we don't have to talk about mushy elephants. I don't expect a reply this time.

I think i would feel so much better about it if she had simply appologized for my trouble and admitted to a mistake instead of just thrusting the disclaimer at me and saying in effect, "tough luck." Oh, well, just very glad I found hcw. Now off to find a deal on sinus meds, mine are killing me!

I too belong to that site at this current time. I had paid up until September (inadvertenly) by getting a new list offered. I had tried to help the new listmaker with information because the store in question is owned by 4 seperate companies under the franchise name. One franchise would have a sale that she wouldn't get the ad for and I would e-mail her to give her the info to include in the list. That went on for 3 weeks and she rewarded me with another month of free lists. The franchise had another sale and I e-mailed her but got back no response. So the lists are not complete and are inaccurate. Besides which that list isn't posted until the weekend so we only have 2 or 3 days to shop. That ad comes out in the mail on a Tuesday, in the paper on Wednesday and then is updated with a flyer on a Sunday if there is a special event. If I see an ad for Juicy Juice that is $.99 and I have a .50 q, I know in my brain that that is the rock bottom lowest price and don't need a listmaker to tell me that.

So she is checking out the store somewhere hundreds miles away (not even disclosed which one) and the subscribers have to be naive enough to believe that all prices in all stores of the same chain are identical?
That's retail illiterate to say the least..

Even if someone reports a clearance and unadvertised special in the exact store I visit and I would go there within hrs of this post, chances are I will not be getting it.

I like to show my gratitude to HCW by clicking on the ads...which raises revenue for the hosting site (HCW).
I'd rather they make money so they can maintain the site than to feel like they're doing it as some type of hobby.

You have to understand -- most of the people who do the trial there have never done any methods to reduce the cost of their grocery bill. I was one of them. I had seen coupons, and I had accidentally stumbled on a bag of free oreos after coupons once in ten years, but I couldn't figure it out for the life of me!

The problem with that site is it leaves you in a state of ignorance.... I was trying to figure out a deal at Walgreens when I found HCW and realized there were other options out there!
