Free Prescription Drugs for Low Income Households - Page 2
Re: Free Prescription Drugs for Low Income Households
These programs are wonderful and they work. When I first started taking care of my parents, Aricept was just put on the market but was over $300 for a 30-day supply. I found pparx.org and they saved me. They sent a 90-day supply to my mother's doctor's office and I picked them up there. All I had to do was have the doctor sign a form, write an RX, and send them a copy of the tax return. It was work but the savings was amazing...
Re: Free Prescription Drugs for Low Income Households
I found this out by the gov. and I tried it and couldn't believe that I got 6months of meds for free!(that's a total of over $600 for free)
this is a wonderful thing and saved me!
Re: Free Prescription Drugs for Low Income Households
This is an old thread but thanks to the original poster as well as to the person who bumped it today!!! I wish I'd come across this 18 months ago! I'm bringing the forms to DHs doctor this afternoon and hopefully in 3 weeks he'll be set and we'll be saving $80 per month and moving from generic to actual drug.
Re: Free Prescription Drugs for Low Income Households
the thing is these places i am reading say you can't have any type of prescription coverage. I have a 1,000 deductible and then it is like $200/month after that. if i didn't have the insurance it would be $500/month but with the medical plan i get this pharmacy plan. it is not great at all as i am self-employed. but i think they should take into consideration the type of plan you have if you have one. mine is horrible but i wouldn't chance cancelling it and not getting approved with one of these people. never fails, my stupid medicines.

Re: Free Prescription Drugs for Low Income Households
I too would like to thank the original poster for this thread ! You truely have made a huge impact on my life, you have no idea!
I came down with Lupus, an autoimmune disorder almost 2 years ago. I was started on a medication that runs 1200.00 per month, my insurance would not cover, period, at all, no generic your just SOL. I also have a few other medications, that run another few hundred bucks a month as well. But I had to have it, thats why I started couponing in the first palce actually, to try to offset the cost as I had to have it, not negotioable. We just had to find the money for it, take it from somewhere else even though there was nowhere to take it from. I searched for weeks for a program to cover it but to no avail. But this database at rxassist, had a company and contact info, no website though, that will cover it!
I know my father went on Advair it was like 300 a month, he has COPD. He also absoloutely has to have it. My sister signed him up for a program that sent him his Advair completely free of charge for a year. Momand dad were on social security at the time, 300 bucks was a killer, a fourth their income almost.
Im sorry to ramble, but the cost of this medication has severely impacted my life, my daughters and I moved in with my parents , as I could no longer afford my medication and pay rent, after just a few months i depleated my savings, we were sitting ducks. this thread so totally gave me my life, my independence back.
I send you my most sincerest of thank yous as does my family, and also a tremendous amount of gratitude. I can in no way ever express just how appreciative my family and I are. Your a lifesaver! Literaly!
