How do you know if there is a limit to the amount of times an Rx can be transferred? I have one, and I think I am going to fill it at Target for a $10 gc and then transfer it to Wags for another $25.

I apologize if this has been covered before but can a Wags gift card for a transferred RX be used on $4 generic prescriptions?

Good Question!!! I do not have the verbage in front of me. Unless the verbage states otherwise I do not see why not. I think the best thing to do is to ask the pharmacy manager. Good Luck and let us know how you made out.

There were some coupon booklets at my KMart in Jeff City, MO that had a transferred Rx q inside (as well as a lot of other decent q's). It expires on 5/24 and is only good on a transfer, but thought I would let everyone know. There is about $30 worth of other q's inside as well. I found them over in the shampoo aisle.

All drugs are classified by "schedule" (I, II, III, IV, V).
Schedule III and IV drugs can only be refilled 5 times.
Schedule II drugs can not be refilled at all, and I am pretty sure they can not be prescribed orally (called in).

Transferring is another matter. Some of the laws are federal and some local, so the best place to ask is at the pharmacy counter.

Federal law states that a schedule III-V drug can be transferred only once regardless of number of refills. Schedule II not at all. All others can be transferred as long as you have refills. I know Florida follows these guidelines. Other states may have stricter laws that would apply. Check with your pharmacist!

I was in Kmart yesterday, and there was a $10 gift card on a new or transferred rx coupon on the front of the sales flier. Expires 6/6/009.
