Does anyone know exactly what transferring a presription means? Is it like when you have a long standing prescription, or can it be something you have one refill left on? For instance, I have a antibiotic prescription that has 1 refill on it, and I was wondering is that considered a transfer? I know it is probably wishful thinking, but I have seen coupon miracles before lol :)

In my experience a transfer is on any prescription that has a refill. It doesn't matter if there are 15 more refills or just one more left on it- it's still transferring an existing prescription that has one (or more) refills still on it.

The only way it's not a transfer is if it's an Rx from from the dr and you're like handing them the Rx to get it filled right then. If it's already there at some pharmacy and has atleast one more refill on it- you can transfer it to somewhere else and that's a transfer. :)

there is a coupon in eckerd's ad today for $25 for a new or transfer rx. it expires 4/3/07.

It means the you have filled a script at Rite Aid (for example).

You have x refills left. It can be one or 20.

You either call or take an old bottle of the script to CVS. They call the other pharmacy to get the OK to move it.

You pick it up and present the gc coupon, pay any copay, and get the gc.

Recently I was asked for a CVS New-transfer coupon. On private mail I could not send. Instead I am posted it so if anyone needs it before it expires on 6/30 feel free to benefit as well.

I received this in today's mail:

CVS: Free $25 CVS/pharmacy gc with your NEW or transferred prescription, x 8/28/07

(also a $10/$20 CVS, expires 7/28/07)

It's a postcard flyer for a new store in the area.

I doubt I'll use it, as they are such a drive for us to get to.
