Default CVS $25 new script deal - need to have refills?

I have a script for a medication that I have to take before a procedure next week. It's a one time script, doesn't have any refills of any sort. I got the coupon for a $25 gift card with the purchase or transfer of a new script to CVS. Can I use it on this one time script? No where do I see it saying that it has to be a med with refills.

As far as I know it does not have to have refills. I've done this myself with new scripts. You can even use a competitors coupon, they take them as well.HTH

It doesn't have to have refills. I used one of mine on a 10 day medication for my daughter that cost me $5 :-) I had another script transfer Q from a EC printout and I now have a total of $75 in CVS gift cards for $25 in co-pays.. WOOHOO!

Out of curiosity.... are there any competitors coupons your CVS won't take? I have a new rx last week and thought I would use a Target $10 with a new or transferred rx and they said "sorry" Target is not our competitor. I said, well yes they are, because if I had known you would not honor this coupon I would have taken my business to Target. So they refused and said Walgreens is thier only "competitor:". Just wondering if anyone else has run into this.

My CVS takes any pharmacy coupons for GC's with a transfered script.

Then I would have told them never mind then...you can keep it and I will go to Target and have them transfer it...thanks! Odds are they would have decided to take the Target q.

I am curious, where does everyone find the gift card coupons for the scripts? I have reached high and low and still haven't seen any.

So I got a thing from Wags the other day that said they would give me $25 GC for a transferred script. Are you guys saying I can take that to CVS, where I always have my scripts filled, and they will honor it?

It says "only for use at Walgreens" on the 'check'.

TIA

Hello:

If your prescription is already at CVS, it wouldn't be a transferred prescription if you took the coupon to CVS. Now you can go to Walgreens, use the coupon and transfer your prescription from CVS to Walgreens and get a Walgreens $25 gift card. Then, if you have another coupon and when your prescription is out at Walgreens, from what I understand you could than transfer it back to CVS and get a $25 CVS gift card (using the Walgreens coupon) as they honor competitor coupons. HTH. :D
