I do this for 4 Rx's that I don't need refilling every month. No store has ever sais no to this for me. If they do, then I will take my coupon and Rx to another that takes competitor coupons.

Please don't gamble with your life or that of a family member!!!!!
I'd hope that your doctors are on the ball with your prescriptions and warn you about potentially dangerous interactions (if not, get a new doctor). Sure, the pharmacist can tell you about that too, but that's primarily your doctor's responsibility. Heck, they should even warn you not to take grapefruit or grapefruit juice with certain medications!

I've heard of these ads that say how wonderful it is to have all prescription meds dispensed by a single pharmacy to get the benefits of a pharmacist inform you about potential dangerous interactions. I'm sure you can ask them / do your own research if you are so worried. I'll take the gift card savings over loyalty to pharmacy any day of the week.

Truely I would not suggest this Rx coupon bouncing around to my grandparents or others who are not educated on what their meds are. I do this with allergy and asthma meds that I know exactly what they are and what they do and I have used them for years. $10, $30 and espcially $45 copays are real incentive to try to save $ in anyway. My Rx copays used to be like 10-20% of my income at one point before I had allergy shots and that is when I figured out the Rx coupons. I read ALL the literature in the box plus more on the net so I know exactly what I am putting in my body. Also there are the really dangerous allergy and asthma meds are OTC! LOL!! :) Point is...do this if you are very knowledgable about your Rx's...if not, don't do the Rx bouncing, especially if you have multiple doctors giving you Rx's. Some could mix in ways you don't want.

I'm so torn on this. I have 2 transfer Qs- $25 at Publix and the awesome $25 + 20 ECB's at CVS. The thing is, I just transferred my script from Publix last month. I'm thinking of transferring it back to Publix just to get the gift card, but then can I transfer it back to CVS next month and get another gift card from them?

My script is $50 oop for me every month, so I'm offsetting the cost of it by half. It really does help me, but I don't want to take advantage of any one.

Any advice is very appreciated.

I do the coupon thing to save money, to make ends meet, and to dig myself out of debt and it is working. I think of the retail prices drugstores have and I used to pay those prices when I was going there for things I forgot at the grocery store or big box store and I just ran in there on the way to/from work. They have made plenty of $ on me in the past, so now they can help me out a little :) I have not seen what their $ profits are, but I doubt that we are going to put them out of business. If at some point they don't like people bouncing their Rx's around or they are losing profits, then they can stop putting the coupons out and maybe just charge realistic retail prices for everyone, then I can stop spending so much time on coupons. :) Most coupons and sale prices are made up by larger prices on other items, and possibly their retail Rx prices (before insurance pays) are higher. Also CVS does not have cheap Rx programs like Walmart, and Walgreens who in my area do not offer Rx or accept Rx coupons from different stores. Each store has their own promotions, so use the ones you can to help out you and your family :) I have 5 Rx's (used to have 10 before allergy shots!) so any relief from that, I will use! I used to use my gift cards for junk food splurges and stuff like that, but now that I am into coupons I maximize my free shopping and get diapers, food, Xmas presests (CVS clearance, etc.) that type of stuff. My last gift card of $25 I turned into 3 shopping trips including 2 carts full of stuff. (Well I did put in $15 more for diapers, but still have $15 ECBs) AND I helped CVS get rid of some of their summer stuff so they don't have to store it anymore $1 beach bags, .69 cents hat, .25 cents sand toys, etc. etc. That was real fun!!! I take care of myself and family and I trust CVS corporate to take care of their companies bottom line. This may sound anti-capitalist or something, but I do love CVS, most of their stores are nice, clean, some you can get flu shots at, some are open all night, staff is friendly (for the most part) etc. They were my favorite drugstore even before my coupon days :)

I agree with ljclayer. As long as I'm playing by the rules, there should be no problem with taking advantage of their offers. Sometimes though, and I don't know why, I do feel guilty coming up to the register w/my q's, ecb's and multiple transactions. Or maybe more just apprehensive. Like for some reason I'm doing something wrong! What's up w/that??

Anyway..I missed it somewhere. Where are you finding the $25 PLUS 20 ECB q's??? That's a great deal!

Walgreens here (Texas) gives you $2 + face value to use a competitor's coupon for a transferred Rx, JFTR.

Sometimes I feel like I need to get at least one thing to buy just so my total is not 2 cents or something like that. To be honest, I do spend actual money at CVS sometimes (I have found some of their generic products great, especially the diapers and things like that save me money these days). It is odd that we can feel bad about getting some free things while corporations spend millions as they compete and market to get us to give them our $$$ The free stuff and coupons are to get you in the door and they want you to of course buy lots more. It is our choice to spend more or not to and with gas and heating prices eating up a bigger part of the paycheck these days, it is getting easier to use more coupons (Rx and cents off) and not throw in extra impulse buys. ALSO I don't see any big corporations (both major brands and generics like CVS, etc.) feeling sorry that they are putting less food, diapers, laundry detergent, etc. in the same size box or bottle and marketing it as the same as it used to be, and charge more for it. I am pretty close to changing to cloth diapers based on the recent less diapers plus price hike that occured at once. As long as I can get the diapers with the deals I have been finding recently at CVS and Walgreens though, I will be happy with disposables.
