Default "Sunburst" window

We close on our house on 3/30 and I have already gotten a lot of great deals on the loads of things we need. However, we have a large "sunburst" (Palladian? Palladium?) window in our new family room that will need some sort of covering. It's very low (eye level) so we'll need something for privacy and light filtering since we're Florida and the sun will bake you just sitting on your couch.

ANY ANY ANY ideas for doing this inexpensively? We have an appointment set up in a few weeks with a custom window decorator from JCPenney (free consulation) but I'm afraid that's going to be several hundred dollars. I'd be perfectly happy with fitted sheers, but I am NOT handy in the slightest, nor do I know anyone who is (who wouldn't charge through the nose for making them!) I looked at mirrored privacy film, but I was afraid that would look ghetto. I've searched online, but came up empty. Any suggestions?

Take a look at this at DIY:

It looks pretty easy.

nrpeace17, I also have a sunburst window (mine is a little higher, maybe about 6 and a half ft up, so the average person ringing my doorbell cant see in!) and I loved the idea of those homemade curtains from the link you posted! Thats nifty ..... rep'd!
