headboards are fairly easy to make or mimic with little or no money unless you really want it attached. Here ae
re 3 ideas
1. rectangle shaped mdf home store will cut to fit just an inch all the way around larger than the twin bed width. Now the fun part for padding if you have a family dollar or big lots (cheapest) then target or wal mart buy mattress foam chaper than fabric stores.
I have simply staple gunned this but I have also glued it both work check at your home store for the glue type that will work best.
Now fabric, wrap it like a gift and staple gun it in the back...good thing you can take it apart and put it together until you get it the way you want. ( I cheat on fabric with cloth shower curtains, table cloths, blankets or vintage from Salvation Army)
2. picket fence nailed to the wall so cute for little ones. THIS IS WHAT I AM DOING IN JOYEUX'S ROOM
3. Two tower style bookcasess slim design for small room, bed in middle on platform one bookcase faces out with the side being the headboard, the other faces in toward the bed ( meaning I can put her tv/dvd/player books etc facing her...HERE IS THE TRICK..
One curtain rod across the whole thing and one from the inside the bookcase to bookcase ...hope this makes sense it will look like a canopy/or if you can imagine window treatment on travis (sure I spelled it wrong) rod. I highly recommend steel string called Digit from Ikea about $16 disappears all you see is the beautiful fabric...
HOPE it make sense pm me for more ideas I am the decorating diva
Also art work hung with grosgain ribbon above the bed is SO Cute |
