I know we learned that the first week we moved here when we had a hail storm and pulled the car in and we couldnt figure out how to get out of the car. LOL
Anyways...our garage is just stockpile and a little bit of a tool area for DH (and I am trying to figure out how I can get rid of that part and then the garage can be all stockpile (evil grin) LOL | Dukes of Hazard, lol! We actually have two cars in there.
Luckily both cars aren't too large.
On the front wall there is a work bench.
The other far side is lined with metal shelving (took ones from side with wood shelving now). That side is mostly DH tool stuff, DS car cleaning supplies, general cleaning supplies, painting stuff, gardening supplies,
and boxes of inserts. ;). Then there is a nice 40" space by the door which is where I am planning to put an upright freezer. This was the inspiration for the whole project, organizing and making space for a freezer.
Jane, most everything in there is canned, or bottled with the exception of a few boxes pasta and some boxed tea. The bottled stuff keeps great.
All the perishables are in the house, I have another stockpile in my bedroom walk-in closet, lol. It is about 6X 10'. I stack large rubbermaid storage containers with perishables such as cereal, granola bars, pasta, snacks, etc., in there.
I am in FL, so I know what you mean about heat in the garage. So far I haven't had any problems except for soda going flat out there. |
