    Default credit history question

    My hubby has no credit history...well of recent when I get his score it is N/A. So wondering if I put him on my credit cards will this give him a score? thanks

    that is if you cc's will let you add him as a co-signer. Adding him as an auth. user will only get him access to use the card, won't update on his credit report.

    If you can't get him added like above, then maybe he can get a small 'secured' credit card, and that should start getting some update. make small purchase on it 1x month, and pay it off right away.

    ahh ty didnt think of that. I added him to one card but just as a auth. user. boo lol thanks for advice

    It will also help if you put some/all of your utility bills in his name and make sure to pay it ON TIME. Paying bills on time has a huge impact on our credit scores.

    I didn't realize it till lately but the 2 biggest factors that affect our credit scores are paying on time and the total amount of our CC debt based on total amount of credit available to us. Let's say your total available credit from all your CCs combined is 20K and your total credit balance is $4000 or way less than that, then you'll have a good rating while keeping your debts to available credit ratio low. IF it shows that you've maxed out your credit limit on any of the cards and trying to get a new one, that will likely lower your score.
