    CHAT Anyone eBay their excess?

Does anyone here eBay their excess to support/help support their family? I'm just curious if anyone can share what sells well & what doesn't. I've been watching the completed item listings to see & it really varies.

I'm trying to cut my hours & increase eBay to help offset it if possible.

The only thing I've really sold with success are the high-end razor blades cartridges (schick intuition/mach 3, etc) & glucose test strips. I had a Rogaine auction that did really good too, lol. I sold 3 bottles for $48, & those were freebies I got @ CVS.

Have you considered Craigslist? It's free to list and you wouldn't have to deal with shipping costs.

I haven't had much luck trying to sell excess stockpile. I tried a lot of 8 Garnier wipes and was unsucessful. I haven't had a lot of luck on Craigslist either...people just don't want to buy in bulk and if they do, I guess they are getting it free like me:)

Ebay has not lsiting fee right now if you already have a DSR rateing...I sell on there but stoclpile things I dont sell them I only buy what we will use for I just cant see very many people buying those things on ebay and having to pay the costly shipping, if they pay the shipping they wont bid very much for them, because they want a deal to..really I dont make very much on things I sell on there I have had nice and new things that did not sell at all and people would ask me after the lsiting ends if I would sell it for any less than that...I sell on there to get things out of my house and to make coupon money, sure coudl not live on what I make on there..cant count on ebay sells for that.

My dad has made ebay sells his living. He decided when I was 12 that he was going to become a stay-at-home father because had 9 kids and their just wasn't anyway to put us all in daycare. Most of the kids were his so he decided he would be the one to stay home while my step mother worked. Needless to say he does very well. What he does is he goes to garage sales/thrift stores/flea markets and buys items to resell. He spent many hours studying antique books and researching what kind of antiques sells and know he is very good. He makes a couple thousand a month doing this. Once he found a little ceramic pot at a garage sale for .25 and then listed it for auction on ebay and it sold for $748.
