Looks like Madoff won't get a plea deal.

He's pleading guilty to 11 charges. Looks like he's headed to the slammer for oh, 150 years or so?

course on the down side he won't be spilling the beans on his wife or the rest of his family. That's a real bummer.

CNBC just announced that the judge sent this jerk to jail. Bye bye Bernie! I hope your wife doesn't get to keep a penny of the $70M she got from you!!!

I'm nowhere near perfect but I cannot stand liars, and this guy tops them all with his $87B scam.

150 years in the slammer won't bring anyone's $$ back, but at least he won't be able to do it to anyone else.

Now, on to the other folks involved in this scam...next up, Mrs Madoff!!

LOL. I agree, Madoff is a big jerk and crook, and hopefully, he'll die in jail. I don't personally know anyone who was burned by him, I don't think. But I wouldn't blame his victims at all if they wanted to give him an actual beating. (Of course, it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, vigilante violence = no-no! ;-))

I heard on the news, in passing, that Madoff said, during his sentencing, that he felt shame and remorse (or something to that effect). But considering the scale of fraud, deception, betrayal, and harm that he committed, for so long, against so many people, it's very hard, if not impossible, to believe he's really capable of feeling shame and remorse. Right now, he's just trying to take the fall for his wife and sons, and to cover for them. But supposedly, the investigation is continuing, and I agree with you, I hope they go down too, and the $70+ million he squirreled away under his wife's name is taken away and goes back to his victims in some way.

I haven't been following this story too closely, so I don't know, what was the total amount of money he stole? Was it in the millions or the billions? I'm not talking about the fake profits, but the actual investment money lost by all his victims.

It is amazing to me that he was able to get away with this when there appeared to be so many red flags that his "investing" was not on the up and up. I think they need to investigate not only his family, but those that turned a blind eye, so to speak.

I have to admit, when they showed the cell he'd be in and that he get's to go outside every other day 'in a cage', I got a smile!

I don't know much about the prison he's going to...I wonder how clean it is, hope there's some slippery soap there.

They should have put him away months ago. They gave him time to hide what he had left. Now they need to go get the Mrs.
I think she knew what he was doing. Don't we all pretty much know what DH is up to and when things don't add up wouldn't you ask? I know I would.
