Car insurance companies do pull FICO scores and I personally think its a load of crap. Regardless of what my credit looks like doesnt define me as a driver.. Car insurance companies to me have no business knowing what my credit looks like. My driving record is "their" business... nothing else!

Before Washington Mutual merged with Chase they had a section on there website that told you your score, I checked it every month. It is gone now that Chase is in charge (not to mention the rate hikes Chase made thank you not so much!). Anyways, that's the only reason I have any idea where ours are at. It was something like 8 months ago that they merged I think, but as of then ours were both in the 650 - 660 range, with our past it could be a lot worse, and they should have done nothing but go up sense then.

I used to check my score through the WAMU site also before the merge. I'm bummed now that we don't have access to that any longer.

Before last month, mine was in the 750-800 range, but in Jan we moved from CA to WA for a job and walked away from our house (and the mortgage) in CA so I'm sure it's on it's way down, down down! We are trying to short sale, but our mortgage company requires that we be 2 months behind on our payments before they will even talk to us about any type of loan modification or pre-foreclosure or short sale. :(

Came in here to find some tax links & saw this thread.

I just had an old issue come up on my credit report. I paid the old bill that I totally blew off on principal, but decided to pay it rather than mess my credit up now. I then went to Experian.com to file a dispute if they didn't remove it & discovered that they're offering a free trial of their credit monitoring service. You get like 9 days to try it & get a free credit report with score for Experian only (don't select "see all three" cause it costs 24.99). I called on day 9 & cancelled & they didn't even ask a single question as to why. I was expecting them to beg me to stay & was really dreading it. LOL! But I already had Discover monitoring & just wanted to deal with this issue.

I totally agree! I don't even want to know my credit score....it's probably in the negatives LOL, but that's only because an Ex left me high and dry and took off with my money. That has nothing to do with how I drive.
