Anywho
My credit score is low. It was getting up there because me and me x were making payments on a car together. But I left last October and just spoke with the bank this week and they told me they JUST recieved November's car payment from him....:shrug7:
I am not even driving it... the girl he cheated on me with is. I told him she should help pay for it and then I can get my name off.... but not as nicely as that....
Sorry... that's for another post! | It doesn't have anything to do with whether you would be a good employee or deserve the job. When I was a Store Manager, I had people that I wanted to move into management positions but were unable to pass the background check specifically because of the credit report. They were likely honest and wouldn't have taken a dime, but the company wasn't willing to risk it because they are considered more likely to steal.
And, I believe you are correct in saying that it's hard enough being a single white mother, but I think a single mother, regardless of skin color has it hard because they are stuck doing everything. I have several friend's in that position and I really feel for them, because I can't imagine having to keep it all together.
Regarding credit scores, mine has been high as long as I can remember. I was lucky that my dad explained to me how to keep my score I and now I can demand lower rates. I went to buy a car a few years and the dealership agreed to match my credit union's rates. A week later, they called and said that the rate would be 1% higher. I told them I'd be there in 20 minutes to return the vehicle I had bought. Within 3 minutes the guy at the dealership called me back about the "mix-up" and how they had it all straightened out. . .how dishonest!
Anyways, the point I'm making is that for those who don't think their credit score matters or they don't need one, you might be surprised what a great credit score can do for you even if you don't get car loans and don't think you will need any other loans.
I also agree with the comments about how we shouldn't have to pay to see the details of our credit score / report and that it should be easy to figure out what needs to be done to fix it. |
