    FYI Paypal personal accounts with no fee

    I upgraded my Paypal to a premier several months ago and was dismayed when they took out fees for any money sent to me. For example, any auction monies would be put into my account minus fees. Well, I didn't know how to downgrade my account back to a personal one, so I figured I was stuck.

    But, alas I continued to investigate and found out I could have a personal account with a new email address as well as a business account. Yay!!!!

    With personal accounts you can still send and receive money without the fees. Here is a link to their policy regarding fees;

    PayPal allows members to have one Personal account and one Premier or Business account. However, each PayPal account must contain unique email addresses and financial information. You may upgrade your account at any time.

    I wish I hadn't upgraded my 1st account, but I did. I thought the premier would somehow have more advantages. The only advantage I can see is that you can get a debit card with the premier account, but then you have charges each time you use it. So, I am glad to be able to go back to using a personal account instead.

    Many posts I see request a non cc PPHF. Does that mean I need to have my PP linked to my bank account instead of being charged to my cc? If I accept PP, what charges do I incur?

    When you have a paypal account you can select to pay by your bank account or a credit card. With a personal account you can't accept payments from a credit card, but you can with premier.

    So, if an auction states non cc pphf. That means they can't accept a payment from paypal that is being paid with a credit card.

    If the poster has a premier account then they can accept credit card payments thru paypal, but they will be charged a fee. In my humble opinion it's not worth it.

    If you accept paypal payments and you have a personal account you will not be charged any fees.

    If you accept paypal payments then you will have a fee deducted from the payment you receive automatically. Here is the link to their fee schedule.

    I hope I answered your questions.
