Default Re: More Cutbacks for schools!

My school works with local restaurants and has nights where they'll give a percentage of their sales to the school. There usually are a couple of them every month (local pizza joint, Texas Roadhouse, etc). Naturally, these are advertised with big banners in front of the school that day. Makes perfect sense to me.

However, I feel the schools could make a bigger push in other fund raising activities. Mainly in the realm of stuff like BTFE, campbell labels, etc. Yeah, they take them, but I don't see them aggressively pushing it.
Another one is goodsearch.com ; Our school I think received a $70 check from them for the past YEAR. They pushed it ONCE...and that was after I made them a flyer about it. In my opinion, if they really pushed it, they could easily get $100/MONTH. Why not use the resources available?

Right! Our schools do this as well. I happen to live in affluent area that has a HUGE tax base. I get so angry when I hear mothers complain about the "resources", or lack of, for their children. They have NO IDEA!!! The schools in Washington DC (our nations captital!) are finally being renovated so the ceiling don't leak! and the walls are not collapsing.
