    This is what happened to my SIL. They were paying rent, but the owner of the house wasn't paying his mortgage. Now they have to move.

    I couldn't imagine such a situation just a few years ago. How long ago did this happen to your SIL?

    Here in Phoenix you can go online and see foreclosure filings. I check the home I rent periodically so I will know as early as possible if the owners aren't paying the bills.

    At our local womens shelter, they have had 40 extra women. When I asked why do they think this is, they said because of the housing crisis and the tearing down of older apartments in our city. It's so sad to see this happening. It ran in our paper so hopefully more people will help out.
