I sure hope its not a bad winter.Oil prices are high here .
100 gal. of #2 oil cost 284.92 That was todays price.
We just got a 100 gallon oil delivery, and the current price on heating oil here is $2.749 per gallon. Ouch.
I sincerely hope that it's not a cold winter.

It is very scarey. I think we still have more than 1/2 a tank. I will check this in the am.It is getting to a point where we have to pinch pennies in order to survive and not just because of what ever other reason we may do this.
I pinch pennies because I want to get ahead in general. Now I feel all my savings will be going to the heat bill.
Sometimes no matter how you work it it is hard to make it meet at the end.

I am always in search of baking mixes especially brownie mix, muffins, all kinds.Pillsbury sweet rolls.Bisquick.Quaker granolla bars.Ziplock freezer bags.Crackers goldfish, rits, chex mix.Pasta and rice side dishes.Tuna. You name it I could most likely use it. Thanks.
wow, we use natural gas for heating....glad I don't have to mess with oil
How much oil would you use over the course of the winter? Just trying to figure out if it would be comparable (cost wise) to using natural gas, which also cost an arm, leg and first born child, when heating a 100 year old house :)
It really depends on how cold the winter is and how leaky your windows are! LOL
We have a breezeway between the house and garage that is a heat sucker-- the windows are crapola. Our hot water is also oil heated. We have used as much as 150 gallons a month in really cold weather. At current prices that is $412 a month.
I would say that we go through about 600 gallons a year. I don't have my Money account here, so that's just a guess.

I have propane.........Can't remember the cost off the top of my head.......but I know is close to 3.00 per gallon........think it is around 2.8X-2.9X
Anyways, depending on the year, we go through 1300-1600 gallons
Have newer windows, newer contstruction (about 10 years old) and only 1500 square feet.
Ouch. :(
After being in a house and battling a landlord over not having heat 3/4 of the time, we're now in a new house with heaters! But we have yet to turn on the heat.. I told DH, we got used to living without heat last winter. But we have individual heaters in each room (the wall ones, not the baseboard though). I don't envy those with oil or even natural gas.
Thank God I have Hot Flashes! I live in the northeast! LOL
Another year I am happy to be in an all electric home!
At our old house we converted from oil heat to natural gas..it was good from a selling standpoint, but honestly, the oil was a warmer heat & we did not see much of a savings on our monthly bill.
We were also told over & over that we did NOT want all electric..well we went from a 1600 SF elec/gas home to a '70's built (so not energy efficient, just replaced windows/doors a couple of years ago) that is 3000 sf & my electric bill was no higher than the combined bills of the last house.
