Luxury Dining Room Table by ME!

Hey Everybody!
So I just recently got a whole new dining room set on the cheap and I thought I'd share how I did it just in case it gives anyone an idea for themselves.
When I started shopping I had a very small round table, barely fit 4 people, the sides folded down and my 2 kids were always leaning on the folded edges so I knew I needed a new set bc it was only a matter of time before they broke it. So... I started shopping around for a new set. I found nothing that would work for my family and still fit in my fiances cheap budget.
And here's how I got the DEAL of My Lifetime
Talked to the guy at Slumberland, no good deals on the floor stuff but he had an old set out back in the garage for $100, no problems with it but it was the same set you've seen in everyone's house throughout the 90's...light oak, round table with claw footed pedestal, highback chairs with scroll work at the top...so, I told him I would think about it and keep looking.
Next I found a local guy who bought old wooden everything and antiqued them and resold for double the price....there I found the most beautiful antiqued table EVER for $175. Couldn't afford it AND the chairs, which were $55 each
I started to talk the antique guy down by telling him about the cheaper set at Slumberland, so instead he asked if I'd go buy the $100 set and he would take the table, give me $100 off the table I wanted from him and I could keep the chairs from the $100 set. Sounds good to me! So in the end, I brought him my crappy set from home which gave me another $40 off the pretty table, so I ended up paying only $85 for my beautiful table and chairs which I hand painted and antiqued myself!
I am so happy with my fiance turning me into a Cheapass! I love saving money now and I love getting the most I can out of people via haggling
This is actually the second time I've rehabed a dining set for our house, so don't forget when you get junk just start thinking about what color paint you need to make it BEAUTIFUL!
