I used to pay about $20 a month but lately it is up to $40ish. I added an older freezer in the garage and of course not the most efficient air conditioners for the summer. And a new computer in the house which is a power hog. We cannot run two computers and the air at the same time though lol, and we generally dont use the air until it gets over 80.

We have all electric with Delmarva and normally its 400 in the summer and 400 in the winter with electric heat. I turned off the big AC upstairs and its down to 190-210 a month. Tells you what was hogging my electric. I have two small acs running, one in the upstairs bedroom, one in the downstairs bedroom and fans, 2 computers, 2 tvs, and other stuff. And we have tried to weatherize. Its just expensive energy.

I would gladly pay 90.00 a month for electric.....I have window units and two small ones at that now that the big one went out so I dread seeing this months bill. With just the big unit alone it was 220.00 a month during the summer, but it is really humid here and hot.

hopefully there is still that Federal program that will give you rebates for buying more energy efficient appliances and I think there is a program with MD state that give you credits, if they haven't run out of money! check it out MrsPinecone!

But like I say, I keep my house cold and leave tv's running and forget lights overnight and all that, so I pay for my laziness, I suppose-and it's well worth it to me!

I'm jealous. My 855 sq foot apartment (which does face NW) provided me with a lovely $156.xx electric bill for June that I just paid.

I can't even imagine what it will be THIS month. Oy vey.
I do keep my a/c to 78, and I use fans, but beyond that I think it's the fact that this is an older building and the insulation sucks that causes my bills to be so ridiculously high.
