    $220? HOLY SMOKES!
I went yesterday and got the extra cell phone and will cancel the land line today. I am not sure what happened but Karma is good for me I guess. I did NOT get charged to activate the 5th line AND I didn't have to switch to their package of 700 minutes! I got to keep my 850 minutes a month AND I also didn't have to do the rebate for the phone. Not sure why, I guess I looked poor enough saying that I wasn't sure how to swing the upfront payment, that she said "don't worry about it." Otherwise I would have had to pay the phone cost up front and then do the rebate form to get my money back.
So I will end up paying about $135 a month for cell and DSL which is all we use anyway. The land line is just an annoying thing that rings at the worst time and the only people on the other end is either a school recording, someone wanting money for thier charity or someone wanting us to "answer a few questions".

$220? Wow...I'd expect unlimited calling on cell phones if you're paying THAT much.
It's 35 cents off of ground round,
    Baby, cut that coupon out!

Well I used to have vonage and now I have magicjack. I am not going to say that magicjack is perfect. But I wont say vonage is either. I do know that they both run thru the internet. I also know that when I had and have any problems with my phone calls, it always comes back to some computer or internet related issue. Having said that, if I am going to pay $30 a month or $19.95 a year for the exact same service. We need say no more. One of the main complaints I had with both services was that you were limited to phone service only next to the computer. I have gotten around that and I am currently running my magicjack thru my whole house.

I have a landline with AT & T with DSL and 2 cell phones. I havent been able to physically use my landline for phone calls for almost 4 years now because every time I do, it knocks out my DSL, and they have never been able to fix it, so the landline has been forwarded to my cell phone for like 3 years now so I can get my home calls. And since we use the cell phones so much, we had to go on the unity plan to make sure we got enough roll over to cover using the cell phones all the time, so if I drop my landline I have to either pay a ton of cash for overage or go with another cell company, which where I live isn't really feasible. My DSL, which I have the premium is terrible and slow. Hate to tell you what I am paying, it's obscene. I'm trapped in AT & T's game I think forever, atleast until I move somewhere the other cell phones work right. My son has Verizon, he lives a couple doors away and has to stand in his garage to make phone calls.
