My mom just got a new dryer and it takes 35 min for an average load.

Mine takes a little longer, maybe 40-45 min?

If your dryer seems slow make sure the the vent piping is completely clear. It can make a huge difference if it is even slightly blocked.

Takes about 40-45 mins and my dryer is 18 years old. It's a old Maytag.

my dryer and washer are brand new---like 3 weeks old (still paying for them, i was tired of paying 50$ a week to do laundry at the laundry mat, so now we are paying 70$ a month for our washer and dryer----we are actually doing one of those stupid rent to own things, but $70 a MONTH is way less then 50$ a WEEK ---AND we are paying closer to 150 a month to have them paid off in 90 days *please no "why didnt you just save up and get a used set-----used sets here are selling for 400$ or more, and the ones that the thrift store had were scary looking and were 175$ for each machine-and most were ranging in the 10-15 year old range)

but my dryer has a load of laundry dry in about 25 minutes------but i pull our clothes out at 75% dry and hang dry them the rest of the way, if i just let it run till they are dry, its about 35 minutes

Have you tried rinsing out your lint trap area? I've seen before that the wax from the dryer sheets can build up on the mesh and keep air from flowing through as freely. The thing I read said just to use some dish soap and a brush on it and then let it dry before putting it back into the dryer.

I think it also depends on how big a load you have in there and how saturated the clothes are. I have one of those awfully tiny stackable washer/dryer units in my apartment and it seems to be horribly inefficient. I usually run my towels through the spin cycle again before moving them to the dryer and that helps cut back on the drying time.

Depends on what I am drying.
    I have a Kenmore(frigidare), about 4 yrs old
Part of a matching front load set from sears.

nylon, synthetics, thin material cotton - 20 min
towels (bath sheets), jeans - 30
King size sheets sewn togeter with top, fitted, and bed ruffle - 40

My old kenmore that was bought in 85 dried everything in about 30.
It was hot! I sold it so I would have a matching set.
Plus I figured my old one would be dying soon.
Ha! my "new" washer died and I don't have a matching set anymore.

Those are some helpful tips I can use. I do use alot of dryer sheets, mabey the wax is clogging the screen? I also like the tip on using the spin cycle twice. Thank you

We have a frontloading set (by frigidaire) and it takes about 30 minutes or less to do a light load, about 15 minutes longer for towels and larger loads. Whenever I put the wet towels in the machine, I toss in a dry towel and that cuts the drying time too.

Our gas dryer takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on what the load is. It's only about 3 years old and when we bought this one, we finally figured out what was wrong with our other one (that we had gotten free and only used for a few weeks) that it literally took forever for our clothes to dry. When we brought this one home, we had to install an adapter for it to run on propane gas, not natural gas. So we think that the old one didn't have the adapter thing and we weren't using any gas, just tumbling dry.
