Default Dyson vacuums- which one easiest for kids to use?

I'm in the market for a Dyson. Now I have to decide which one. I'm trying to decide between the 'ball' version (DC 15, 24, 25) or not (probably a DC17.

One of my main questions, and I can't find it answered on any Dyson comparison boards, is "Which Dyson is easiest for children to use?"

Does anyone here use a 'ball' Dyson, and do you think it would be easy for kids? I'm just thinking of the shopping carts in England that all four wheels pivoted--it was a nightmare to push. You had to use your knees and back more. And I don't know if the 'ball' vacuum will be the same way. I need feedback!!

And if I don't go with a 'ball', then what?!!?! (I'm still getting a Dyson, so only those recommendations, please!)

Thanks for helping me!!!

We have the Dyson Animal (Purple - DC 15??) and LOVE it - picks up everything ans anything imaginable...

That being said though - it's heavy!!! I'm not sure how it compares weight wise (heavier/lighter) than other Dysons because it is our first but I know I have a hard time going up and down the stairs with it.

Just a thought...

Thanks. We don't have stairs, thankfully. But there's always the possibility that we will when/if we move to a new house.

The DC15 is a 'ball' version. Is your's a ball? You might have the DC17; it is the heaviest Dyson at 20.79 lbs.

We recently bought a Dyson DC-07. Doesn't have the "ball" but is very easy to manuver. The kids can push it themselves and they are only 7 & 9. The handle will almost lay flat so any size "little" person can use it. Even dumping the canister they can do. Just lift it out and pull the trigger and the bottom opens right into the trash can. Kids love it when I say "who's got a date with the vacumm cleaner today?"

We got ours on clearance at Sears...apparently they are discontinuing this model. If you happen to buy at Sears, they have a special going on with all these extras like the hand vac and some kind of cleaning solution for the carpets at NO extra charge, wyb the Animal.

Mine is a ball, I have a 6 yr old and she can easily push it around, but the controls are harder. For example, the thing you step on to make the vacuum "release" so you can tilt it, she cannot do that.

Also, whoever named that a "quick draw wand" was clearly smoking crack.

I've seen smaller kid sized Dysons at Lowe's before. (I think, I reserve the right to be wrong!)

I have a Dyson (I dont recall the model off hand but it is not a ball one) and my 5 year old can push it around. I would not say he does the best job vacuming but he tries. But my 11 year old can manuver it very nicely and can carry it upstairs too.

Maybe you could take your kid to the store and let them push the floor model around?
