Tips: Contacting Companies to Complain or Cheer!

I wrote PetSmart a letter to see if they'd send me a voucher to get a grooming done to compare to my local Petco since Petsmart just opened a store here. Got a very nice letter back stating they don't do that but all grooming services come with a money back guarantee and if I wasn't happy with my dogs grooming I could take it up with the manager. Oh well. I tried. :shrug1:

I wrote Colgate-Palmolive a while back telling them the stores around my area did not take internet printed coupons. Could they send me some coupons in the mail. They were really very generous and sent a ton of coupons!

I wrote to clariol to tell them what a wonderful experience I had using their haircolor. They responded that they were happy I had a good experience and that they were sending me a coupon in the mail. I was surprised to see a coupon for a free clariol product! It took about 3 weeks to receive it.

Well I've spent like an hour emailing companies. It was time for me ot do this again. It waslike in May when I did this last. Can't wiat to get surprises in my mail box.

When I email them I just praise them. I never mention coupons or anything like that.

Here's what I emailed to IBC Rootbeer:
My youngest son loves IBC Rootbeer. He loves it so much, he named his cat Rootbeer and every year he ask for rootbeer candy canes. Thank you for makinn a product that he loves so much.

I emailed Campbells and said:
My family loves all of your products. The soups, cream soups, and gravies are the best. Campbell's soups heat the body right up when it's cold outside, the cream soups are the best to use in cooking and the gravies taste as good as grandma's gravy. Thank you for producing products that are delcious and healthy.

I'll get back to my emailing list tomorrow or Sunday or Monday. One day soon.

I've been doing this a lot lately. I emailed Stash teas & told them how much I liked their teas and they sent me a catalog (gorgeous!) and 6 free teabags. I emailed Sweetleaf about their stevia & they sent me coupons, free stevia samples & 3 teabags. Loved tasting the new teas so I tried it on a few more tea companies & I'm waiting to see what I get. I love getting freebies in the mail!

After reading this thread, I spent some time on Sunday morning, emailing 8 different companies. One of them (Amy's) sent me a personal (NOT form) email that day! On Sunday!! They said they'll be sending out coupons. I also heard back from all of the other companies...all of them saying to look for coupons in my mailbox.

But, get this...today (3 days after I sent the email!!), SC Johnson sent me a coupon for FREE (up to $4.50) on any Pledge product, AND a coupon book with $15 worth of coupons for some of their other products!! It was in my mailbox today! I didn't ask for coupons. I just complimented them, and told them how much my granddaughter, who is 3, loves to dust with me!

Well...I got more goodies in the mail today! I still can't believe that I just wrote those emails on Sunday...4 days ago!!! Here's what the mailman brought today:

Birdseye: Four .25 coupons good on any product
Stash Tea: Two .35 coupons, plus 6 teabags
Olivio: 5 FREE coupons

Don't you wish the turnaround time on rebates was this good!!??

I contacted some companies about coupons. When they wanted the upc code off the package that I have , what do you say to them? I was kind of lost for words. Just received coupons from Johnson.:Poke:

If it is a form you fill in, leave that blank. If you are talking to someone in person who asks, tell them the truth--usually that you already threw the package away.
