I've never received telemarketing calls on my cell phone before and I've had this number for a year...got the first telemarketing call yesterday, I can only assume it's because I made the mistake of texting for stupid battery coupons. :-( .I've never given this number out to anyone but my family, so it has to be from this.

Sadly I started getting what I call spam calls on my cell phone about 8 weeks ago. They get really scared and hang up when I tell them that I've listed my number on the Do Not Call Registry (after I act all interested in whatever junk they were trying to push and their name, company name and direct contact info telling them I have to go into a meeting right then and promising to call them back so they would give me the correct info.)

Did you know you can now list cell phones on the National Do Not Call Registry? If you haven't done so already, you may do so at: https://donotcall.gov/

Also if you get spam texts, quite often replying with just: "STOP" will make it stop.

I just tried this offer and it is no longer valid. It offers a different one for Cosmopolitan txt COSMO

I was just browsing along this section and saw this thread. I would caution anyone against giving out their numbers. If a site demands a phone number, I'll just give them all "9s" to fill in the blank.
